Изобретение относится к цветной металлургии и переработке минерального сырья и может быть использовано на предприятиях глиноземного производства. Предлагается способ извлечения иттрия путем обработки соляной кислотой минерального сырья при перемешивании с переведением иттрия в раствор, причем в качестве минерального сырья используют отходы переработки бокситов, например красный шлам, и обработку ведут 5-7 %-ным раствором соляной кислоты при 85-95°С и отношении Ж : Т =3:5:1. При этом 5-7 %-ный раствор соляной кислоты может быть получен путем разбавления по крайней мере один раз концентрированной соляной кислоты водой и раствором, полученным после обработки красного шлама. Предлагаемый способ позволяет получать иттрийсодержащие растворы с достаточно высоким содержанием иттрия, пригодные для последующего получения металлического иттрия и его соединений известными способами. Основным преимуществом способа является использование в качестве исходного сырья отходов переработки бокситов, в частности, красного шлама.The invention relates to the non-ferrous metallurgy and mineral processing and can be used at the enterprises of alumina production. The main advantage of this method is the use of bauxite processing waste, in particular, red mud as a feedstock.
