Usage: in high-temperature electrochemical devices for various purposes: fuel cells, oxygen pumps, electrolyzers and gas analyzers of oxygen-containing gases and other high-temperature devices as structural, switching and electrode materials. The inventive material containing cobalt oxide in the form of CoO, Co 3 O 4 , Co 2 O 3 , or their mixtures, zirconium dioxide and the addition of a metal oxide selected from the group: calcium, magnesium, rare earth elements, or their mixture, indicated components are taken in the following ratio, wt.%: cobalt oxide from 39.6-78.2 (in terms of cobalt); zirconium dioxide 45-0.5; metal oxide - the rest is up to 100%. A method of manufacturing a material includes mixing the original ingredients, produced by the method of chemical coprecipitation of hydroxides from aqueous or alcoholic solutions of salts, in particular alcoholates, the corresponding metals, their calcination at temperatures of 450-900 ° C, followed by grinding powder. For the formation of blanks, additives are used that decompose with the release of gaseous products at a temperature of 10-200 ° C below the sintering temperature of the material, which is carried out at 1000-1450 ° C. During sintering in an oxidizing environment, products can be additionally heat treated in a reducing atmosphere at a temperature of 50–300 ° C higher than their working temperature.
