Abstract
Description
The invention relates to geophysical methods for studying the geological environment and is intended for searching and exploration of mineral deposits, as well as for engineering geophysical research in land and water areas.
Seismic vibrations generated by a vibration source are based on the desired signal parameters, providing time and amplitude resolution of the seismic record. Such a signal, which provides optimal conditions for excitation of oscillations, is called the desired signal. Unfortunately, with pulsed excitation of seismic vibrations in explosive and non-explosive seismic exploration, the ability to control the shape and spectrum of the signal is very limited. Continuous excitation of the signal in vibroseismic exploration allows for more reasonable control of the phase and frequency characteristics of the signal, achieving greater approximation to the desired signal. At the same time, as a prototype of the sweep signal generated in vibroseismic exploration, it is reasonable to take the pulse signal that is obtained as a result of processing vibroseismic records, using correlation processing or deconvolution, based on the use of the sweep as a reference signal.
- 216 с.).An analogue of the proposed invention is pulse seismic exploration, in which the criteria for selecting the desired pulse shape are known (Hatton L., Werdington M., Meikin J. Processing of seismic data. Theory and practice / M.: Mir, 1989. - 216 pp.).
In pulse seismic exploration, zero-phase and minimum-phase pulses are most widely used.
The interpretation based on “zero-phase cuts” has the following advantages: a zero-phase pulse, having a narrower main maximum than a minimum-phase pulse with the same amplitude spectrum, allows one to achieve a higher amplitude resolution; the timing of the reflective boundary corresponds to a peak or valley, and not to a less noise-resistant zero crossing; The polarity of the zero-phase pulse is easily determined, since its energy is concentrated in the region of the central peak.
«Минимально-фазовые разрезы» обладают следующими особенностями: в простой горизонтально-слоистой среде, имеющей минимально-фазовую импульсную характеристику, возбуждаемый минимально-фазовый импульс потребует лишь небольших фазовых изменений; при построении оператора формирующего фильтра с помощью минимально-фазовой предсказывающей деконволюции исходный импульс предполагается также минимально-фазовым.“Minimum-phase cuts” have the following features: in a simple horizontally layered medium having a minimum-phase impulse response, the excited minimum-phase pulse will require only small phase changes; When constructing a shaping filter operator using minimum-phase predictive deconvolution, the original pulse is also assumed to be minimum-phase.
In conditions of a thin-layered medium, at the data processing stage, they strive to bring the desired signal closer to zero-phase, preferably with a wide frequency range and gentle slopes of the spectrum.
A significant disadvantage of pulse seismic exploration is the uncertainty of the shape of the resulting pulse, and the importance of this factor for interpretation has long been recognized.
№11).The closest technical solution to the proposed invention (prototype) is a method of vibration seismic exploration, including the excitation of continuous seismic oscillations using a reference sweep signal generated by a vibration source, registration of oscillations by seismic receivers and cross-correlation or deconvolution of recorded records using a reference signal. In this method, the reference signal is converted into a minimum phase signal, which is used as a sweep signal, with the help of which oscillations are excited, and after recording them, the resulting records are passed through a Wiener filter (I.P. Korotkov, A.P. Zhukov, Shekhtman G.A. Method of vibration seismic exploration // RF Patent No. 2650718, published 04/17/2018, Bull.
The main disadvantage of the known method is that it limits the shape of the desired signal to transformation only into a minimum-phase signal, which, as noted above, is not always an optimal signal for different geological environments.
The purpose of the proposed method is to expand its functionality by using a signal of any shape as the desired one.
This goal is achieved by the fact that in the method of vibration seismic exploration, including the excitation of continuous seismic oscillations using a reference sweep signal generated by a vibration source, registration of oscillations by seismic receivers and cross-correlation or deconvolution of the recorded records using the reference signal, the desired pulse-shaped signal is converted into an equivalent base signal a sweep signal, in the phase spectrum of which delays are introduced corresponding to the inverse filter of the geological medium.
Compared to the prototype, the proposed method is characterized by the following significant differences:
• в формируемый свип-сигнал могут вноситься не только минимально-фазовые, но и любые другие временные задержки, соответствующие фазовому спектру преобразуемого импульса;• not only minimum phase delays, but also any other time delays corresponding to the phase spectrum of the converted pulse can be introduced into the generated sweep signal;
• свип-сигнал формируют путем преобразования не только фазового, но и амплитудного спектра, в соответствии с амплитудно-фазовыми характеристиками желаемого импульса;• a sweep signal is formed by transforming not only the phase, but also the amplitude spectrum, in accordance with the amplitude-phase characteristics of the desired pulse;
• новый свип формируют не путем тривиального модифицирования фазы уже существующего свипа, а путем его расчета по специальному алгоритму, преобразующему любой желаемый импульс в эквивалентный ему свип, используя развертку стандартного линейного свипа как начальное приближение.• a new sweep is formed not by trivially modifying the phase of an existing sweep, but by calculating it using a special algorithm that converts any desired impulse into an equivalent sweep, using the sweep of a standard linear sweep as an initial approximation.
Thus, the significant novelty of the proposed method is due to the fact that, unlike all analogues and the prototype, in it the control sweep signal is generated based on the impulse response of the desired type, i.e. the method is universal. Thus, the proposed method makes it possible to generate and emit continuous specified signals into the geological environment, which cannot be emitted by pulsed sources of excitation of seismic vibrations due to their limited controllability.
Экспериментальные результаты, подтверждающие осуществимость и преимущество предлагаемого изобретения, иллюстрируются фигурой, на которой показано сравнение сейсмических изображений газовой залежи, полученных с применением различных сигналов: импульс взрывного источника (слева), виброисточник с нелинейным свипом на основе коррекции только амплитудного спектра (посредине) и, в соответствии с предлагаемым способом, на основе предварительно рассчитанного сигнала обратного фильтра (справа).Experimental results confirming the feasibility and advantage of the proposed invention are illustrated by the figure, which shows a comparison of seismic images of a gas reservoir obtained using various signals: an explosive source pulse (left), a vibration source with a nonlinear sweep based on amplitude spectrum correction only (middle), and, according to the proposed method, based on the pre-calculated inverse filter signal (right).
The essence of the proposed method is as follows.
It is assumed that there is a pre-calculated impulse response in the form of a conventional relatively short signal of the desired shape, which needs to be emitted into the geological environment to solve certain practical problems. This signal is converted using a special algorithm into two equivalent sweeps to enable the first sweep to be emitted into the geological medium by a vibration source, followed by correlation of the medium’s response with the second sweep. The difference between the first and second sweeps is that the sweep intended for radiation is the amplitude-phase equivalent of the signal along with the sweep itself, while the other sweep, intended for cross-correlation, does not introduce phase delays of the converted signal. In this case, the cross-correlation function of two such sweeps will be equivalent to the given signal itself, and the proposed method will be a universal method of emitting any desired signal using a vibration source. The method is carried out as follows:
Select a pulse signal of a given shape and calculate its amplitude and phase spectra.
Calculate a basic sweep with a linear sweep and a flat amplitude spectrum.
Calculate the time-frequency law of the existing base sweep.
Based on the amplitude spectrum of the pulse, the time-frequency law of the new sweep is set.
• Базовый свип разбивают на интервалы, в которые вносят разницу между двумя законами время-частота путем сжатия-растяжения интервалов (частотная модуляция).• The basic sweep is divided into intervals into which the difference between the two time-frequency laws is introduced by compressing and stretching the intervals (frequency modulation).
• Фазовые значения спектра импульса добавляют в соответствующие временные интервалы нового свипа.• The phase values of the pulse spectrum are added to the corresponding time intervals of the new sweep.
Two sweeps are formed - with and without the addition of pulse phase values.
• Рассчитывают функцию взаимной корреляции двух свипов, и процесс итерируется до ее максимального совпадения с исходным сигналом.• The cross-correlation function of the two sweeps is calculated and the process is iterated until it matches the original signal as closely as possible.
The mathematical formulation of the algorithm for converting the desired signal into a sweep signal can be presented as follows:
To calculate the value of the sweep amplitude s for time t within each sweep sweep segment, use the formula
ϕ0 и ϕ(t) - начальное и текущее фазовые значения.where a(t) is the envelope of the carrier linear sweep, the purpose of which is to maintain the force level specified in the carrier linear sweep. ϕ 0 and ϕ(t) - initial and current phase values.
The current phase of the sweep segment is defined as a function:
Свип-сигнал, содержащий изменения только в амплитудном спектре, загружают в контроллер регистратора (энкодер), он служит для взаимной корреляции с таким свипом зарегистрированных виброграмм с целью более точного выделения отраженных сейсмических сигналов.where t is the current time, ƒ 1 - starting frequency, ƒ 2 - ending frequency, where T is the duration of the segment and Δϕ(t) is the added phase function taken from the pulse converted into a sweep. The frequency values at their corresponding times within the segments of the calculated sweep are selected from the time-frequency law of the new sweep. The purpose of the added phase is to compensate for phase changes caused by signal propagation through the medium. Since the added phase component Δϕ(t) must be compensated during passage, for a more accurate correlation of already recorded signals using standard correlation, it is necessary to use a sweep signal in which Δϕ(t)=0. Thus, the algorithm calculates two sweep signals, with and without the addition of the segment pulse phase Δϕ(t). A sweep signal, with the amplitude spectrum changed according to the desired time-frequency law and the added phase, is loaded into the vibration installation controller (decoder) and emitted into the geological environment. A sweep signal containing changes only in the amplitude spectrum is loaded into the recorder controller (encoder); it serves for cross-correlation with such a sweep of recorded vibrograms in order to more accurately isolate reflected seismic signals.
In accordance with the proposed method, the desired signal in the form of an inverse filter of the geological environment is converted into two sweeps. A sweep with the addition of a reverse filter phase is loaded into the vibrator controller, physically emitted into the geological environment and recorded as a vibrogram. Since the introduced reverse phase delays are compensated during passage through the geological medium, the recorded vibrogram is correlated with the sweep without introducing phase delays, which provides a more accurate correlation to obtain the final correlograms.
The implementation of the proposed invention in the practice of vibration seismic exploration does not require the creation of new technical means and can be started already at the present time. Its use will make it possible to more reasonably control the excited signal, thereby increasing the reliability of the study of productive deposits. The technical result is improving the quality of vibration seismic data.
Результаты проведенных опытных работ, представленные на рисунке, убедительно показывают преимущества предлагаемого способа формирования сигнала, как обратного фильтра (фигура, справа), над импульсным источником (фигура, слева) и частично управляемым вибросигналом (фигура, посередине).The results of the experimental work, presented in the figure, convincingly show the advantages of the proposed method of signal generation as an inverse filter (figure, on the right), over a pulse source (figure, on the left) and a partially controlled vibration signal (figure, in the middle).
The proposed method, discussed in detail in the application to land seismic exploration, without significantly changing its essence, can be fully applied when conducting offshore and borehole seismic surveys, which are carried out in significant volumes using vibration sources.
