Abstract
Description
The invention relates to the field of metallurgy, namely to a method for producing high-strength steel sheets, and can be used for the manufacture of critical elements of agricultural earth-moving equipment from it. The present invention is aimed at obtaining high strength and ductility in medium carbon steel after thermomechanical processing consisting of hot rolling and subsequent three-stage quenching-distribution processing.
Currently, manufacturers of agricultural and earth-moving equipment are in demand for high-strength steels with a yield strength σ 0.2 ≥1200 MPa, from which it is planned to manufacture working elements of earth-moving machines. These steels are subject to requirements for a combination of high hardness, strength, wear resistance, good ductility and satisfactory impact toughness. These steels are used in aircraft manufacturing, rocketry and space technology. Their use in the production of cars, transport and earth-moving equipment is hampered by their high cost. In this regard, it is necessary to develop new low-alloy steels and methods for their processing to meet the current needs of the industry in the form of high performance characteristics and acceptable cost.
There is a known method for producing heavy-duty steel sheets, disclosed in patent RU 2684912 C2 dated 07/03/2015. Heavy-duty steel has the following chemical composition, wt. %: 0.34-0.40 C, 1.50-2.30 Mn, 1.50-2.40 Si, 0.35-0.45 Cr, 0.07-0.20 Mo, 0.01 -0.08 Al and less than 0.05 Nb, the rest is Fe and inevitable impurities. The proposed method consists in the production of coated and uncoated steel sheet, which includes the following successive stages: cold rolling, heating to a temperature T a , and the temperature T a is higher than the steel transformation temperature A c3 , cooling the heated steel sheet to a temperature T q more lower than the transformation temperature of steel M s , and located in the range from 200 to 230 ° C, and annealing for carbon redistribution at a temperature T p 350-450 ° C with exposure at this temperature for a redistribution time of 25-55 seconds, while After redistribution, the steel sheet is galvanized and cooled to room temperature. The resulting coated steel sheet has a structure containing at least 60% martensite and 12-15% retained austenite.
The disadvantage of this method is the relatively low strength properties - the tensile strength of the sheet does not exceed 1470 MPa. In the heat treatment process, there is a stage of processing the steel sheet by hot-dip galvanizing or galvanizing with annealing, which complicates the technological process of obtaining the required level of characteristics.
21%.The closest in technical essence to the proposed invention is patent RU 2716920 C2 “Method for the production of sheet steel characterized by improved strength, ductility and formability”, which discloses a method for producing high-strength steel sheet of chemical composition, wt. %: 0.18≤C≤0.25, 0.9≤Si≤1.8, 0.02≤Al≤1.0, with 1.00≤Si+Al≤2.35, 1.5< Mn≤2.5, 0.010≤Nb≤0.035, 0.10≤Cr≤0.40, Fe and inevitable impurities - the rest. The microstructure of the sheet consists of the following phases: from 20% to 50% intercritical ferrite, from 10% to 20% retained austenite, from 25% to 45% tempered martensite, from 10% to 20% fresh martensite and bainite, and from 30% to 60 % total amount of tempered martensite and bainite. Heat treatment consists of heating for quenching to a temperature tA corresponding to the intercritical region, quenching the sheet at a cooling rate from 20°C/s to 50°C/s to the quenching temperature QT from Ms - 50°C to Ms - 5°C, heating sheet to a distribution temperature PT from 375°C to 450°C and holding the sheet at a distribution temperature PT for a Pt distribution time of at least 50 s, and cooling the sheet to room temperature. This sheet can show a yield strength of up to 750 MPa, a tensile strength of up to 980 MPa, and an elongation after break of more than 21%.
Недостатком данного способа является относительно высокое содержание Mn в стали, наличие дорогого Nb и относительно невысокое значение (σB×δ).The combination of strength and ductility, defined as the value of the product of temporary fracture resistance and relative elongation (σ B ×δ) does not exceed 21000 MPa ×%. The disadvantage of this method is the relatively high Mn content in steel, the presence of expensive Nb and the relatively low value (σ B ×δ).
From the analysis of literature data, it was revealed that a technical problem in this area is the need to develop thermomechanical processing modes for high-strength medium-carbon steel for the manufacture of parts for working parts of agricultural earthmoving equipment.
The objective of the present invention is to develop thermomechanical processing modes for medium-carbon steel that provide high strength and ductility.
Техническим результатом изобретения является получение высокопрочного горячекатаного и термически обработанного стального листа из среднеуглеродистой стали, обладающий одновременно высокой прочностью (предел текучести не ниже 1200 МПа) в сочетании с высокой пластичностью (относительное удлинение не менее 19%), в результате чего параметр σB×δ≥31 ГПа⋅%.The technical result of the invention is the production of high-strength hot-rolled and heat-treated steel sheet from medium-carbon steel, which simultaneously has high strength (yield strength of at least 1200 MPa) combined with high ductility (relative elongation of at least 19%), resulting in the parameter σ B ×δ ≥31 GPa⋅%.
To solve the technical problem and achieve the stated technical result, thermomechanical processing is performed on medium-carbon steel with a chemical composition containing, by weight. % carbon (0.30-0.46), silicon (1.50-2.0), manganese (1.00-1.40), chromium (0.50-0.80), molybdenum (0.20 -0.40), aluminum (0-0.02), the rest is iron and inevitable impurities.
The thermomechanical treatment mode includes: hot rolling, heating to austenitization temperature, quenching in a hot environment (molten salt) and the “distribution” operation. To obtain a high-strength steel sheet, with a tensile yield strength of at least 1200 MPa, a tensile strength of at least 1650 MPa and a relative elongation of at least 19% from steel characterized by the presence in the structure of primary martensite, retained austenite, bainite and secondary martensite containing carbon, silicon, manganese, chromium, molybdenum, aluminum, characterized by the fact that the steel is heated to a temperature of 1100-1080°C and maintained at this temperature for at least 1 hour for homogenization, rolling is carried out from a temperature of 1100-1050°C to a temperature of at least 900 °C with compression of at least 60% and subsequent cooling in air, then reheated to temperature A C3 +30-50 °C, into steel, but not lower than 900 °C, until complete austenization, cooled to the quenching temperature in salt, first heated to a temperature 30-70°C below the temperature of the onset of martensitic transformation Ms, at a quenching rate of 210 - 250°C per second in the temperature range 900-300°C, ensuring the production of at least 60% retained austenite in the structure with an operation duration of 200 up to 500 seconds, then heated in a solution of molten salt to a temperature of 350-410°C, which is higher than the temperature of the onset of the martensitic transformation Ms, while the “distribution” time is determined from 500 to 2000 seconds, so that bainite begins to form in the structure, final cooling carried out in air to self-temper secondary martensite.
The temperature of the onset of martensitic transformation Ms and the volume of formed bainite are determined by dilatometric studies.
%.Carbon provides high strength and hardness of the alloy. Reducing the carbon content below the declared level leads to a decrease in strength, and a higher content compared to the declared limits negatively affects ductility. Carbon also has a positive effect on the hardenability of said steel. In this regard, the carbon content is limited to 0.30 to 0.46 mass. %.
Silicon has a positive effect on hardenability and provides increased strength by suppressing the release of cementite during the spreading operation. To ensure high hardness and strength, the steel composition includes from 1.5 to 2.0 wt. % silicon. Too high a silicon content has a negative effect on the ductility and toughness of steel.
%.Alloying steel with chromium increases the strength of steel. Manganese and chromium increase the hardenability of steel, allowing a significant increase in the thickness of hardened parts while reducing the cooling rate during hardening. A high chromium content (above 0.8%) leads to a decrease in strength, ductility and toughness, therefore the introduction of chromium into the claimed steel is limited to 0.5 to 0.8 wt. %.
Alloying with manganese leads to deoxidation and hardening, and also binds sulfur, forming manganese sulfides. Manganese content is in the range of 1.0 - 1.4 wt. % leads to improved toughness and hardness.
Alloying steel with molybdenum in the range of 0.2-0.4 wt. % leads to increased corrosion resistance, hardness, and also improves its hardenability. Molybdenum also prevents temper brittleness during heat treatment. Alloying steel with molybdenum more than 0.4 wt. % is not economically feasible.
Aluminum is the main deoxidizer used in the smelting of medium-carbon steels and is necessary for the binding of nitrogen into aluminum nitrides and for effectively inhibiting grain growth, as well as to prevent the binding of boron into nitrides. The residual aluminum content in steel should not exceed 0.02 wt. %, because if this amount is exceeded, the composition of non-metallic inclusions inevitably present in the metal will contain a large amount of aluminates and spinels, leading to a decrease in strength and plastic characteristics.
Hot rolling ensures refinement of the initial austenite grains, which has a beneficial effect on the structural parameters of martensite after quenching. This, in turn, leads to an increase in the mechanical properties of low and medium carbon steels to a significantly higher level. Refining the original austenite grain is necessary to increase the impact strength and yield strength, as well as the ductility of steels. The heating temperature for rolling is selected higher than the austenitization temperature during traditional heat treatment (quenching + tempering), but lower than 1150°C to obtain the minimum size of the initial austenite grains. A rolling reduction of at least 60% is used to ensure an increase in the properties of steel, followed by cooling in air.
To optimize properties, medium-carbon steels are subjected to a two-stage quench-distribution (Q&P) heat treatment after hot rolling to obtain a structure consisting of at least 40% primary martensite, 20-40% retained austenite and bainite, 20-40% secondary martensite. Heating is carried out to a temperature of A C3 +30 - 50°C, but not lower than 900°C, until complete austenitization, followed by cooling in salt, previously heated to the hardening temperature. In the proposed method, the quenching temperature is selected 30-50°C below the onset temperature of the martensitic transformation Ms, to obtain martensite and a controlled volume of retained austenite. The temperature and time of isothermal holding during hardening ensures the production of at least 60% retained austenite. The isothermal holding time during hardening from 200 to 500 seconds allows for a full industrial hardening procedure, since there is no need to prevent the formation of bainite in excess. Heating in a molten salt furnace to a higher temperature than the quenching temperature is necessary to stabilize the retained austenite by saturating it with carbon that diffuses into it from the martensite. “Distribution” is carried out at a temperature above M s in a molten salt solution heated between 350°C and 410°C to perform the operation of redistributing carbon between martensite and retained austenite. The distribution time ranges from 500 to 2000 seconds, and the choice of temperature and time for this operation is determined by the need for bainite formation during this operation. In bainite, the process of formation of retained austenite occurs in parallel. This is followed by cooling in air to room temperature at a rate of no more than 10°C per second to a temperature of 200°C, so that self-tempering of secondary martensite, which contains a larger amount of carbon than primary martensite, occurs. The distribution temperature is chosen lower than the formation temperature of Fe 3 C carbide, since its precipitation leads to a decrease in the yield strength due to a decrease in the carbon content in both martensite and retained austenite. As a result of this treatment, a structure is formed consisting of at least 40% primary martensite, 20-40% retained austenite and bainite, 20-40% secondary martensite. The formation of such a structure makes it possible to achieve both high strength and ductility. A long dwell time during “distribution” increases the manufacturability of the process of obtaining the structure and reduces heterogeneity, which can lead to higher-quality products with stable properties.
