Abstract
Description
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the field of cleaning the water surface from oil pollution during oil spills, as well as cleaning water areas from hydrocarbon films and can be used in emergency oil spill response.
At present, the sorption method of localization and collection of oil from the surface of the water, which consists in treating the contaminated surface with various plant sorbents, has become widespread.
A known method of cleaning the water surface from oil pollution (application RU No. 2002112522, IPC C02F 1/28, B01J 20/22, publ. 11/10/2003), including contacting water with a peat sorbent until the oil pollution is bound by the sorbent and removing it from the water surface, and peat is used as a sorbent, which is preliminarily modified by drying at 100-120 ° C.
Also known is a method for purifying water from oil pollution (patent RU No. 2031860, IPC С02F 3/34, Е02В 15/04, publ. 03/27/1995), in which a bacterial preparation is introduced into the polluted water, which is a cell culture of bacteria of the Pseudomonas strain fluoresceus-2 - a, immobilized on sphagnum peat.
The disadvantage of these methods is that they cannot be used in regions where there are no peat deposits.
Also known is a method of cleaning soil and water from oil pollution using a composition (patent RU No. 2333161, IPC С02F 3/34, B09C 1/10, publ. 10.09.2008) containing wood dust, as well as waste from the flour and cereal industries , with the following ratio of components, wt. %: waste from the flour-grinding or cereal industry 10.0 - 20.0, wood dust - the rest.
The disadvantage of the method based on water purification using flour and cereal industry waste is the small particle size, which, when interacting with water and oil, quickly stick together, slowing down the process of absorption of oil and its derivatives.
0,5-1,5. Also known is a method of purification of wastewater and water surface from pollution by oil and oil products by contacting water with a sorbent (patent RU No. 2126714, IPC B01J 20/00, C02F 1/28, publ. %: peat in the amount of 90-95, zeolite in the amount of 4-8, a mixture of anionic and nonionic surfactants in the amount of 0.5-1.5.
The disadvantage of this method is the applicability of the proposed composition of the sorbent, which includes components of different specific gravity, mainly for stationary use, for example, for wastewater treatment from oil pollution. When cleaning the water surface from oil pollution, the use of zeolite in the composition of the sorbent is impractical. Since, without buoyancy, it will sink and, therefore, will not perform the function of a water purifier from impurities.
Also known is a method for collecting oil and oil products from the water surface during emergency spills (patent RU No. 2033389, IPC C02F 1/40, E02B 15/04, publ. 04/20/1995), including uniform application of a sorbent agent for waste wood processing on an oil slick , absorption of oil and oil products, followed by extraction of the resulting formation from the water surface by mechanical means, and in order to increase the efficiency of the collection process and reduce the cost of the method, hydrolytic lignin with a moisture content of 8-15% is used as a sorbing agent at a volume flow rate of 15-35% of the volume spilled oil and oil products, where hydrolytic lignin is used as a sorbent.
The disadvantages of this method are the difficulty of collecting the sorbent from the surface of the water, the insufficient degree of absorption, as well as the settling of the sorbent to the bottom, which leads to environmental pollution of the bottom layers. In addition, hydrolytic lignin itself is an environmental pollutant.
Closest to the claimed invention is a method for cleaning the surface of water from oil pollution (patent RU No. 2559554, IPC C02F 1/28, C02F 3/32, B01J 20/22, publ. 08/10/2015), including drying and grinding the plant sorbent , contacting the contaminated water surface with a plant sorbent and removing it from the water surface, while as a plant sorbent, pre-dried and crushed to a size of 5 mm, the stem and leaves of the southern reed and camel thorn leaves are used in proportion to oil pollution 0.5: 0.3:1, respectively, and added to the zone of oil pollution sequentially with an interval of 5 minutes.
The disadvantages of this method are the difficulty of collecting loose sorbent from the surface of the water, as well as the complexity associated with the interval addition of the sorbent to the contaminated area. In addition, the use of camel thorn and southern reed as a sorbent for oil is convenient only in areas where they grow. At the same time, data on the buoyancy of the oil-saturated sorbent are not known.
The technical tasks are to create an effective method for cleaning the water surface from pollution due to the possibility of cleaning the water surface from oil pollution of any size and volume, increasing the level of manufacturability and environmental friendliness, as well as reducing costs when cleaning the surface of water bodies from oil spills.
Technically, the problems are solved by the method of cleaning the water surface from oil pollution, including drying and grinding the plant sorbent, contacting the contaminated water surface with the plant sorbent and removing it from the water surface.
According to the first option, it is new that mixed leaf litter is used as a plant sorbent in a ratio to oil pollution (0.14-0.2): 1, which is pre-modified with a 3% hydrogen peroxide solution for 40 minutes, after drying and grinding the modified mixed leaf litter, booms are formed from it, then the contaminated water surface is contacted with the booms, followed by removal from the water surface.
According to the second variant, it is new that fruit shells of cereal crops are used as a vegetable sorbent in a ratio of 0.8: 1 to oil pollution, which are preliminarily modified at a temperature of 150–160 ° C for 20 minutes with constant stirring, after drying the modified fruit shells. shells of cereal crops, mats are formed from them, then the contaminated water surface is contacted with mats, followed by removal from the water surface.
According to the third option, it is new that two plant sorbents are used, as the first plant sorbent, mixed leaf litter pre-modified with a 3% hydrogen peroxide solution for 40 min is used in relation to oil pollution (0.14-0.2 ):1, as the second plant sorbent, fruit shells of cereal crops preliminarily modified at a temperature of 150–160 °C for 20 min are used in a ratio of 0.8: 1 to oil pollution, after drying and grinding the modified mixed leaf litter and drying the modified fruit shells. shells of cereal crops form booms and mats, respectively, then the contaminated water surface is contacted with booms and mats, followed by removal from the water surface.
The method of cleaning the water surface from oil pollution is as follows.
The method for cleaning the water surface from oil pollution includes drying and grinding the plant sorbent, contacting the contaminated water surface with the plant sorbent and removing it from the water surface.
According to the first option, mixed leaf litter, LO, is used as a plant sorbent, which is preliminarily modified with a 3% hydrogen peroxide solution for 40 minutes. Modified mixed LO is taken in relation to oil pollution (0.14-0.2): 1. The modification increases the holding capacity of the mixed LO, i.e. the time to the onset of oil desorption is more than twice in the case of a long time to eliminate the stain. Mixed LO is a mixture of fallen (dead) leaves of the following trees: poplar 40-60%, birch - 12-30%, linden - 12-30%, aspen - 3-4%, other tree species - 1-2%. The modified LO is dried and crushed to a size of no more than 20×20 mm. After drying and grinding the modified mixed LO, booms are formed from it. Booms formed from crushed and dried modified mixed LO are delivered to the oil spill site. Next, the contaminated water surface is contacted with booms (booms are located on the pollution surface) with subsequent removal from the water surface.
Sorbent booms are made with a packing density of 0.12-0.17 g/cm 3 . Booms made with a given density do not allow oil pollution to pass through the boom, upon contact with oil pollution (oil) they are immersed in water by 30-50%, which minimizes oil overflow during currents and wind. A boom of a given filling with sorbed oil has 100% intrinsic buoyancy for 3 days. The presented boom can be used to protect the coastline.
Booms are prepared in a cylindrical shape, the shell of which is made of a synthetic mesh (polyamide, polyester and polypropylene threads with a mesh size of 5-15 mm). The localization of oil pollution (oil slick) with booms on the water surface is carried out using a small vessel, and the booms can be transported both on a ship and by water. The fencing is carried out in such a way that the sorbing booms immediately contact with oil pollution (ie oil) along the slick perimeter and close into a geometric figure close to a circle with the help of clamps.
According to the second option, fruit shells of cereal crops - POZK are used as a vegetable sorbent, which are preliminarily modified at a temperature of 150–160 ° C for 20 minutes with constant stirring. Modification increases the sorption capacity of POZK by 30% compared to unmodified (untreated). Modified POZK is taken in the ratio to oil pollution 0.8:1. POZK are fruit shells of oat grains - 35-50%, barley grains - 35-50%, wheat grains - 30-50%. The modified POZK is dried, after drying the modified POZK, mats are formed from them (bulk density is 0.12 - 0.16 g/cm 3 ), delivered to the oil spill site. Next, the contaminated water surface is contacted with mats, followed by removal from the water surface.
Mats serve to eliminate oil pollution (oil slick) and are made of the same shell as booms (according to the first version of the proposed method). Mats (it is also possible to manufacture rolls of mats) are made with a thickness of 0.01 to 0.15 m and are promptly placed on the surface of oil pollution (oil contaminated slick).
According to the third option, two vegetable sorbents are used. As the first plant sorbent, mixed LO is used in the ratio to oil pollution (0.14-0.2):1, pre-modified with a 3% hydrogen peroxide solution for 40 min, and POZK is used as the second plant sorbent in ratio to oil pollution 0.8:1, previously modified at a temperature of 150–160 °C for 20 minutes. After drying and grinding the modified mixed LO and the modified POZK, booms and mats are formed, respectively. The shell of the booms and mats is made of synthetic mesh (polyamide, polyester and polypropylene threads with a mesh size of 5-15 mm). Booms and mats formed from crushed and dried modified mixed LO and POZK, respectively, are delivered to the oil spill site. Next, the contaminated water surface is contacted with booms and mats, followed by removal from the water surface.
The geometric dimensions of the booms and mats may vary depending on the size of the oil contamination and spill conditions. The main dimensions of the products can be selected in accordance with the recommendations for the use of technical means in the aftermath of an oil spill, developed by the All-Russian Research Institute for Civil Defense and Emergencies of the Russian Emergencies Ministry (Moscow, 2020). After removal of oil pollution (stains), sorbent products - booms and mats are subject to wringing and reuse. After a triple pressing, the spent sorption products are burned in a non-contact combustion furnace.
Выбор варианта очистки поверхности воды от нефтяного загрязнения (смешанным ЛО по первому варианту или ПОЗК по второму варианту, или двумя растительными сорбентами - смешанным ЛО и ПОЗК по третьему варианту) зависит от имеющегося материала и любой из предлагаемых вариантов позволяет достичь высокой эффективности (выше 99 %).The choice of an option for cleaning the water surface from oil pollution (mixed LO according to the first option or POZK according to the second option, or two plant sorbents - mixed LO and POZK according to the third option) depends on the available material and any of the proposed options allows achieving high efficiency (above 99% ).

Thus, the proposed method for cleaning the water surface from oil pollution is effective, it allows you to clean the water surface from oil pollution of various volumes and sizes. The sorption material has a high intrinsic buoyancy. At the same time, the proposed method is technologically advanced and environmentally friendly, since, in comparison with the closest analogue (loose sorbent), it is distinguished by the convenience of collecting sorption products. Leaf litter of gardeners trees and fruit shells of cereal crops are secondary raw materials throughout central Russia, therefore, this sorbent has a wide area of use, is a plant material that is not withdrawn from the natural ecosystem, but is a waste and requires disposal in accordance with the regulations ( foliage - a waste from the cleaning of urban areas, POZK - from the processing of agriculture, which are buried, processed, burned).
The proposed method does not have time features of applying sorption products, is an affordable and cheap raw material, which reduces costs when cleaning the surface of reservoirs from oil spills.
