Abstract

FIELD: water surface clearing from petroleum and hydrophobous liquids by sorption. SUBSTANCE: method provides for water surface treatment by expanded graphite in amount of 0.1 10 of sorbate mass, graphite extraction from water by perforated fabric or by net with cells size less than 12 mm, graphite squeezing out, setting on fire and repeat use of sorbent. EFFECT: apparatus allows to increase degree of water clearing, decrease of sorbent consumption and costs of its preparation. 1 tbl

Description

The invention relates to ecology and chemical technology, can be used in the elimination of spills of oil, oil products and other hydrophobic liquids in water.

Numerous methods are known for cleaning the surface of the water from oil, including the operations of fencing the oil stain, reducing the area of the stain, applying the sorbent, collecting the sorbent and destroying the oil. As the sorbent, various porous materials are used, wood flour, white soot.

A known method of cleaning water bodies from a floating film of oil, including treating the surface of the water with wood flour, collecting floating flour and destroying the oil along with the sorbent by burning.

The disadvantages of this method are the inability to reuse the sorbent and the low efficiency of water purification.

The objective of the invention is to increase the degree of purification, reducing the consumption of the sorbent and the cost of its preparation due to repeated use.

The problem is solved in that in the method of cleaning the surface of the water, including surface treatment with a finely dispersed sorbent, collecting the sorbent and destroying the adsorbed oil, according to the invention, expanded graphite in the amount of 0.1-10% by weight of oil is used as a sorbent, graphite is recovered with a grid with a size cells less than 12 mm, squeeze and set fire. After ignition, the sorbent restores its structure and properties.

П р и м е р 1. PRI me R 1. Purify water from coke distillate in the laboratory. An extract of phenolic purification of the 2nd oil fraction (coke distillate) in an amount of 15 g was added to a container with 3 liter water and a water surface ("water mirror") 225 cm 2. After 0.5 h of stirring, the concentration of the hydrophobic impurity in the water was 5000 mg / l Then, 0.25 g of expanded graphite of the GAK (GT, GL) grade with a density of 2 kg / m 3 , which is 1.5 wt. sorbent by weight of the sorbate. After 30 s, expanded graphite was collected from the surface with a metal mesh with a cell size of 8 × 8 mm. The residual concentration of oil products in purified water was determined. The collected expanded graphite agglomerates with sorbed oil products were ignited, as a result of which the oil products burned out, and the graphite was restored to its original bulk density. Reduced graphite was again used to purify water in various proportions with oil. In total, 10 cycles of water purification with one portion of graphite were carried out. The test results are shown in the table.
