Abstract
Description
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to cold curing epoxy compositions and can be used for fixing steel anchors in reinforced concrete, stone and brick.
Two-component epoxy resin compositions cured with amines at room temperature are widely known and are used as adhesives, putties, grouts and other compositions obtained by manually mixing the resin and hardener in a separate container and then filling the mold or applying to the surfaces to be glued. Most often, epoxy compositions are produced in the form of two-component systems consisting of resin and hardener, which are mixed immediately before use. A feature of epoxy compositions is the advantage in a number of physicochemical and technological properties over other thermosetting materials. These include high strength, high adhesion to a wide variety of materials, wear resistance, low shrinkage during curing, low water absorption. This explains the widespread use of epoxy compositions in a wide variety of fields of technology and construction.
The curing process of epoxyamine compositions consists of two stages. At the first stage, from the moment of mixing the components to gelation (gelatinization), there is a partial interaction of active functional groups, which is accompanied by a loss of fluidity.
The second stage is from the moment of gelation to the application of the load. At this stage, further curing and a gradual increase in the mechanical properties of the material take place. In conditions of limited time during installation and repair and restoration work, it is necessary that after gelation, in order to apply the design load to the fixed anchor, the strength of the epoxy composition reaches the required value in a very short period of time.
DE 19832669.There are various ways to increase the cure rate of cold cured epoxy amine compositions. One of them is the use of Mannich bases as hardeners, which are products of aminomethylation of phenols, secondary and tertiary aromatic amines by treating them with formaldehyde and secondary amine. The use of such hardeners is described in EP 1475412 A2 and DE 19832669.
An original way to increase the rate of reaction of epoxy compounds with amines is proposed in patents WO 99/29757, EP 1674495 A1 and RU 2660898 C2. Hybrid hardeners based on a mixture of amines with novolac resins are proposed. These hardeners make it possible to significantly increase the curing speed of amine-based epoxy resin compositions, including at low temperatures.
Кроме того, в качестве ускорителей могут быть использованы органические сульфокислоты, такие как метансульфоновая кислота, п-толуолсульфоновая кислота и их сложные эфиры (патенты RU 2595651, RU 2220991 C1)To accelerate the curing reaction of epoxyamine compositions, various accelerators are introduced into the composition. Aminophenols are used as accelerators, for example, 2,4,6-tris(dimethylaminomethyl)phenol, 2,4,6-tris(dimethylamino)phenol, bis(dimethylaminomethyl)phenol, as well as tertiary amines, in particular, benzyldimethylamine, triethanolamine, etc. Some carboxylic acids such as benzoic acid, salicylic acid, 2-nitrobenzoic acid also speed up the reaction. In addition, organic sulfonic acids such as methanesulfonic acid, p -toluenesulfonic acid and their esters can be used as accelerators (patents RU 2595651, RU 2220991 C1)
US Pat. No. 4,051,195 states that the addition of multifunctional esters of acrylic and methacrylic acids accelerates the gelation of compositions based on epoxy resins cured with aliphatic amines.
Known composition (patent CA 2539937C), designed to fix various elements in concrete or masonry. The composition contains epoxy resins, including epoxy novolac resin, and at least one reactive multifunctional acrylate. The hardener used is an amine having at least one acyclic group. This adhesive composition has increased adhesion, but at room temperature it does not have the necessary speed properties, it reaches 80% strength only after 5-6 hours.
Closest to the high cure rate epoxy composition of the present invention is a composition containing multifunctional acrylates capable of rapidly reacting with amines. A composition is proposed (patent US No. 2006/0252891 A1), in which epoxy diano resin cured with aliphatic amines additionally contains acrylic monomers such as trimethylopropane triacrylate, dipentaerythritol pentaacrylate, etc. In addition to accelerated curing, the composition is characterized by improved adhesive properties to various substrates. Despite the fact that the described epoxy composition includes a number of components used in the present invention, it does not have the necessary rate of set of mechanical properties after gelation.
The closest prototype of the proposed technical solution is the composition of the epoxy composition described in US patent 8026321 B2. When carrying out work where accelerated curing modes are required, use two-pack epoxy compositions, in which each component (component A and component B) has a given dosage (at a mass ratio of A:B = 1.5:1.0), and is isolated from each other in separate compartments of a plastic cartridge. An increase in the rate of gelation was achieved by introducing multifunctional acrylates (tri- and pentaacrylates) into the composition of the epoxy composition (component A), cured with aliphatic amines (component B). The mechanism of the accelerating action is determined by the reaction of the primary amino groups of the hardener, both with the epoxy groups of the resin, and with the double bonds of tri- and pentafunctional acrylates. Component A and component B are simultaneously squeezed out of the compartments and mixed in a special nozzle - cartridge mixer. At a high curing rate, the fluidity of the epoxy composition is maintained for 1-3 minutes. During this time, both components of the composition are mixed, then the technological hole is filled with the resulting mixture, into which a metal anchor stud is installed.
Полученная однородная смесь двух компонентов с временем гелеобразования 1-3 минуты используется для скоростной закладки и крепления элементов конструкций, анкеров, арматуры, болтов и других закладных элементов в высверленных отверстиях в различных основаниях, таких как бетон, железобетон, камень, кирпичная кладка (в том числе из пустотелого кирпича).The resulting homogeneous mixture of two components with a gelation time of 1-3 minutes is used for high-speed laying and fastening of structural elements, anchors, reinforcement, bolts and other embedded elements in drilled holes in various bases, such as concrete, reinforced concrete, stone, brickwork (including number of hollow bricks).
The extrusion of the composition from the cartridge is carried out by a gun of a special design.
The disadvantage of the compositions shown in US patent 8026321 B2 is the low speed of achieving the strength parameters of the epoxy composition after gelling. This disadvantage does not allow the use of these epoxy compositions under conditions of limited time before the application of the load, for example, when repairing concrete structures in the existing subway.
Thus, currently known epoxy compositions, including compositions containing multifunctional acrylates, have a short gel time when cured with aliphatic amines, but have an insufficient rate of mechanical properties development, i.e. processes occurring after the formation of the gel.
The technical objective of the present invention is the accelerated achievement of strength properties after gelation of the cold curing epoxy composition cured with amines. High strength is necessary for fixing embedded elements in concrete, stone or masonry during installation work.
The technical result is achieved by using a mixture of an aliphatic amine with tris(hydroxymethyl)aminomethane (TRIS) as a hardener, which interacts with an epoxy component consisting of a mixture of epoxy diano resin, trifunctional acrylate - trimethylopropane triacrylate and diethylene glycol diglycidyl ether (DEG-1). TRIS - is an aliphatic amino alcohol tris (hydroxymethyl) aminomethane composition . The introduction of TRIS in an amount of 0.2 - 0.8% (mass.) in the composition of an epoxy composition cured with aliphatic amines accelerates the achievement of mechanical strength and hardness of the composition after gelation at room temperature. The time to achieve the required mechanical properties using TRIS compared with the prototype is reduced from several hours to 20 - 30 minutes. High mechanical strength ensures reliable fastening of the metal anchor under the calculated load, and reduces the time of installation work from the moment of laying the liquid composition into the hole (cavity) until the load is applied to the fixed anchor. The use of other known aliphatic amino alcohols instead of TRIS does not lead to the effect obtained.
The specified curing parameters have compositions, composition:
The introduction of TRIS into the composition and the combination of components in the indicated ratios accelerates the increase in the strength properties of the composition after gelation by 3-4 times compared to the composition without TRIS. This makes it possible to carry out repair, restoration and installation work at a functioning facility under time constraints without stopping the production process.
The preparation of the composition is illustrated by examples.
As a reference sample, a composition based on epoxy resins modified with a multifunctional acrylate and cured with an aliphatic amine, but not containing TRIS, is given. This composition has a short gelation time, however, the processes of the set of mechanical properties are slow and do not allow work to be carried out under time-limited conditions, for example, when working in the subway, where the technological window is no more than 2.5 hours.
1.Example 1
1.A two-component composition consisting of component A (filled resin) and component B (filled hardener) in a mass ratio of 5.3: 1, without TRIS, the composition of which is shown in table 1.
Components A and B are thixotropic and acquire high fluidity at low shear forces, which allows them to be easily mixed to a homogeneous state after extrusion from the cartridge compartments and to use the composition packaged in the cartridge compartments. Gelation time at room temperature during bulk curing is 1.5 - 2.0 minutes. The minimum curing time and the set of required properties in the volume exceeds 2 hours.
2.Example 2
2.A two-component composition consisting of component A and component B in a mass ratio of 5.3: 1, containing TRIS as a curing accelerator, having the following composition for component A and B in accordance with table 2.
Components A and B in this example are thixotropic and flow at low shear. The gelation time at room temperature with volumetric curing is 1.5 - 2 minutes. The minimum time to set the required properties in the volume at room temperature is not more than 30 minutes.
1.The evaluation of the strength development was carried out according to the dynamics of the increase in hardness according to Shore A. The results of measuring the hardness according to Shore A during curing of samples weighing 50 g are shown in Table 3 and are illustrated by figure 1.
From the data obtained for examples 1 and 2, it follows that the epoxy composition containing TRIS as a curing accelerator shows a shorter hardening time according to Shore A, reaching a maximum value 15-20 minutes after mixing components A and B. A composition that does not contain TRIS reaches similar parameters within 2-3 hours.
