Abstract
Description
The invention relates to the field of veterinary medicine, in particular to methods for treating digital dermatitis (Mortellaro's disease) in cattle.
Digital dermatitis (Mortellaro's disease) is one of the most important problems of modern dairy cattle breeding and animal husbandry in general. Mortellaro disease is a widespread disease of the limbs of cattle in many countries, causing significant damage to farms. The incidence of animals is in the range from 20 to 35% of animals, but it is possible to increase the incidence up to 70% of the herd with a low level of preventive and therapeutic measures.
With this disease, the skin of the crumb of the hooves and the interhoof gap is affected in the form of ulceration or proliferation. Lesions are very painful and cause lameness of varying degrees, which in turn leads to a decrease in milk and meat productivity.
Н.Э. 2017. Т. 229. №1. С. 9-13.) [1].A known method for the treatment of digital dermatitis in cattle by applying to the affected areas of the spray with antibacterial drugs (Spray Terramycin). The negative side of this method is the lack of therapeutic effect, as well as the possibility of getting the antibiotic into milk. After some time of using this spray, its therapeutic effect decreases (Galimzyanov, I.G. Treatment of infectious digital dermatitis in cattle / I.G. Galimzyanov, O.I. Shorkina, PP Shafigullin // Scientific notes of the Kazan State Academy of Veterinary Medicine named after 229. No. 1. P. 9-13.) [1].
In veterinary practice, ointment dosage forms with aseptic action are widely used. The composition of modern ointments with aseptic action as active ingredients includes antibiotics (tetracycline, erythromycin, etc.) and antimicrobial substances. Many used ointments contain various combinations of active ingredients. However, at present there is a big problem of the formation of resistant forms of microorganisms to the antibiotics used.
A known method of treating digital dermatitis (Mortellaro's disease) of cattle using Solka Hoofgel gel, which has a good therapeutic effect (Improving the effectiveness of treatment of cows with Mortellaro's disease / Zemlyankin V.V., Nenashev I.V. // Veterinary of farm animals. 2018 No. 10. S. 23-29.) [2]. The drug contains zinc (3.27%) and copper (3.3%) in the form of chelate compounds; organic acids: formic acid (1.4%), lactic acid (1.3%); acetic acid (0.7%); adhesive components and shaping agents. A significant disadvantage of this method is the high cost of treatment, as well as sometimes insufficient efficiency in the fight against pathological skin lesions of the distal extremities.
Г. 2019. №7-8. С. 24) [3].In recent years, iodophors have been used as an aseptic component in the composition of ointments (Pharmaiodic ointment for the treatment of traumatic injuries, dermatitis, purulent-inflammatory diseases of the skin and soft tissues in animals (Use of iodophors in veterinary surgical practice / Chuvakova E.A., Kurochkina N.G. // Youth and Science, 2019, No. 7-8, pp. 24) [3].
A known method for the treatment of digital dermatitis of cattle (RF patent No. 2521242) [4] by applying the drug in the form of an ointment to the affected areas 1-2 times with or without a protective bandage, while the drug is used as a drug in the form of an ointment of the following composition , wt. %: veterinary copper sulfate 35-45, zinc oxide 9-11, ointment base the rest, which is prepared by mixing the components until a homogeneous mass is obtained.
This method has disadvantages: the therapeutic effect directly depends on the preliminary cleaning of the limbs and contamination of the affected area in the absence of a protective dressing. In addition, the proposed ointment does not have an analgesic effect.
The objective of the invention is to increase the effectiveness of the method for the treatment of digital dermatitis (Mortellaro's disease) in cattle.
The technical result of the invention is to ensure uniform absorption of an antiseptic ointment with an analgesic effect.
The task and the specified technical result are achieved due to the fact that in the known method of treating digital dermatitis of cattle, including applying the ointment 1-2 times to the affected areas, according to the invention, in addition, before applying the ointment, limbs are cleaned, hooves are trimmed, dead tissue is removed, processing affected fingers with a disinfectant, and the ointment is preliminarily applied to swabs or napkins, which are fixed on the affected areas with a bandage in the form of an adhesive tape on a fabric base coated with polyethylene, while using an ointment of the following composition, wt. %: iodophor (CIo=5.5%) - 70.0; lactic acid (80%) - 5.0; glycerol - 5.0; dimexide - 5.0; ointment base - the rest.
Removal of the remnants of non-viable tissues, pathogenic microorganisms and products (toxins) of their vital activity creates conditions for the active action of the ointment.
The use of wipes impregnated with ointment ensures even distribution over the surface. The active ingredients are absorbed gradually, which ensures a long-term effect during treatment.
The drug for the treatment of digital dermatitis of cattle is prepared in the form of an ointment by mixing the components until a homogeneous mass is obtained. The complex combination of the substances that make up the ointment provides broad antimicrobial,
противовоспалительные и ранозаживляющие свойства, а также обезболивающее действие за счет препарата "Димексид".anti-inflammatory and wound healing properties, as well as analgesic effect due to the drug "Dimexide".
When the drug is applied to the area of tissue damage, active iodine is released slowly and evenly, while providing a prolonged antiseptic and disinfectant effect.
A method for treating digital dermatitis (Mortellaro disease) in cattle is as follows. First, the animal is securely fixed in the machine and the condition of the limbs is examined, then they are cleaned of dirt, the hooves are trimmed, a little of the stratum corneum is removed and anatomically correct hooves are formed. Hoof trimming manipulations are carried out using hoof tongs, a grinder with a hoof trimming disc and special knives. After the functional treatment of the hooves, the affected area is cleaned, removing necrotic (dead) tissues, the affected finger is washed with warm solutions (temperature 30-40 0C) with soapy water or 5% potassium permanganate solution or 0.5% solution "EMS-Y type A » or other detergents and disinfectants. Tampons or napkins with the preparation in the form of an ointment of the above composition are applied to the affected areas of the limbs of animals, then a protective bandage is applied using a special fabric-based tape coated with polyethylene, which provides excellent adhesion to uneven surfaces and protects against moisture and dust penetration. On the third day, the animal is securely fixed in the machine, the diseased limb is examined, the bandage is removed from the affected area and the affected finger is washed with warm soapy water or 5% potassium permanganate solution. After the treatment procedures, a decrease in the area of damage and swelling of the surrounding tissues is noticeable, which means the beginning of the healing process of tissues. If after the first procedure the affected area still remains (lameness and unnatural setting of the limb are observed), then the bandage with ointment is applied to the affected area again. A protective bandage is applied over the swab with ointment. On the sixth day, the affected limb is examined. Remove the protective bandage, wash and inspect the affected area. During this period, the process of primary tissue organization is completed. The natural setting of the limbs is normalized in the animal and there is no lameness. After identifying these factors, the use of the drug is stopped.
The duration of the course of treatment depends on the severity of the pathological process and is 1-2 applications. As a rule, with a small area of tissue damage, one application is sufficient. The drug helps to accelerate the rejection of dead tissues and the beginning of tissue granulation and regeneration of defects. When observing the animals, which were applied to the affected area with a therapeutic bandage with ointment, there was a clear decrease in their lameness already on the 2nd-3rd day, which meant the beginning of the process of healing and restoration of the affected tissues.
An example of a specific implementation.
At the dairy complex "Saburovo", a cow with inv. No. 7920, diagnosed with digital dermatitis of the rear left limb. The diameter of the skin lesion is 3.5 cm. A method was used to treat digital dermatitis of cattle with pre-treatment and application of the drug in the form of an ointment of the above composition with the application of a protective bandage twice with an interval of 3 days. After removal of the protective bandage on the 6th day, signs of healing are observed at the site of the lesion: the development of granulation tissue over the entire surface of the skin lesion, the absence of pain when pressed.
When observing animals that were treated with drugs on the affected area, there was a clear decrease in their lameness already on the 2nd-3rd day, which meant the beginning of the process of healing and restoration of the affected tissues.
The results of applying the method for the treatment of digital dermatitis (Mortellaro's disease) in cattle are shown in the table.
The proposed method has certain advantages: there is no need to reject milk, since the ointment used does not contain antibiotics; there is a wide spectrum of activity against microorganisms, including their resistant forms. The method is effective in the treatment of digital dermatitis (Mortellaro's disease) in cattle, does not cause stress in animals.
