Abstract
Description
The invention relates to electric arc processes, mainly to plasma welding with direct current of aluminum and its alloys, as well as non-ferrous metals of large thicknesses, where it is recommended to use reverse polarity welding in a shielding gas medium, and can be used in various industries.
Например, неплавящийся электрод по патенту №2248868.There are various designs of electrodes used in plasma welding and structurally included in the plasma torches. Thus, electrodes with a soldered copper tip are widely known, inside of which there is a tube for supplying cooling water to the tip. For example, non-consumable electrode according to patent No. 2248868.
However, such electrodes have such a disadvantage as an insufficient resource and arc instability, especially at low currents, with a slight displacement of the electrode relative to the plasma forming nozzle.
Known non-consumable electrode for arc processes on the reverse polarity according to patent No. 1496969, adopted as a prototype of the present invention. This non-consumable electrode contains an electrically conductive housing in which a high-temperature glass is fixed with a tungsten insert pressed into it, and a water-cooled tube is placed in the glass cavity.
However, this prototype is too complicated to manufacture.
Исходя из сказанного в качестве прототипа заявленного способа выбрана заявка на патент №2003120016.Almost all known methods of welding with plasmatrons with non-consumable electrodes use a stream of coolant, most often water, to protect the cup from melting. In this case, only the cooling rate usually varies, depending on the requirements for the temperature of the anode spot. Based on the foregoing, a patent application No. 2003120016 was selected as a prototype of the claimed method.
The objective of the present invention is to provide a non-consumable electrode for plasmatrons used in automatic DC welding on the reverse polarity of large thickness aluminum alloys, and to develop a welding method that provides stabilization (stability) of the electric arc burning between the electrode and the product, and with an effective cooling system of its electrode .
The technical result achieved by using the claimed invention is to improve the quality of the weld due to the stable burning of the arc at high currents, as well as an increase in the resource of the electrode.
It is known that in plasma welding of aluminum on the reverse polarity of parts of large thicknesses (15 ÷ 20 mm) it is necessary to use a welding current of 500 ÷ 700 A. The welding pool in this case can reach a diameter of 20 ÷ 30 mm and it becomes dependent on the density of the welding current. At current densities above 20 A / mm 2, the weld pool begins to perturb (boil) and the welding process becomes impossible. The main organ in the plasmatron, forming a certain current density, is the electrode, and in second place is the plasma-forming nozzle and then other parameters. In addition to controlling the current density, the electrode must have a certain temperature of the working end of the tungsten insert. When welding at reverse polarity, the anode spot is the entry point and neutralization of free electrons in the anode material and its temperature can exceed 2500 ° C. It was empirically found that if the anode is supercooled, which occurs at a high coolant speed, the processes occurring in the arc column will be disrupted, as a result of which a gray crust forms on the surface of the anode, the thickness of which increases over time, which negatively affects the formation of the welded seam. When the temperature of the anode exceeds the melting temperature of tungsten, the end of the electrode changes shape and begins to evaporate, which also negatively affects the formation of the weld.
The need to create plasmatrons for automatic welding requires optimization of the design of its most heat-loaded units, one of which is an electrode. Therefore, the main technical result that provides the solution of these problems is the optimization of the size of the electrode, for example, the ratio of its outer diameter to the dimensions of the tungsten insert. These relationships significantly affect the operation of the entire plasma torch, including the achievement of stable arc burning due to the distribution of the anode spot of the arc over the entire surface of the tungsten insert. As a result of this distribution of the anode spot over the entire surface of the tungsten insert, there is no increase in current density of more than 20 A / mm 2 , which ensures the formation of a weld with a quiet weld pool without “boiling”, which, in turn, favorably affects the quality of the weld .
It was experimentally established that the most optimal welding results are obtained at an anode spot temperature in the range of 2300 ÷ 2500 ° C, when the end face of the tungsten insert does not melt, and at certain geometric dimensions of the tungsten insert and copper case.
Based on the foregoing, the claimed technical result is achieved in a technical solution by a non-consumable electrode for plasma welding on the reverse polarity, containing an electrically conductive housing in which a copper cup is mounted with a tungsten insert installed in it, and a water-cooled tube is placed in the cup cavity. The geometric dimensions of the tungsten insert and the copper glass are selected from the following ratios:
D=m√l, гдеD = m√l, where
D - диаметр вольфрамовой вставки;D is the diameter of the tungsten insert;
l - максимальный ток сварки;l is the maximum welding current;
m - эмпирический коэффициент =(0,41÷0,42).m - empirical coefficient = (0.41 ÷ 0.42).
D1=2D; L=D, гдеD 1 = 2D; L = D, where
D1 - диаметр медного стакана;D 1 - the diameter of the copper glass;
L is the length of the tungsten insert.
The claimed technical result is achieved in the technical solution of the method of welding with a non-consumable electrode for plasma welding at reverse polarity, in which the inner surface of the electrode is cooled with a liquid that is supplied at a speed of 4 to 5 m / s. At the same time, the temperature of the end face of the tungsten insert is maintained within 2300-2500 ° C, and a current of 500-700 A is used for welding.
The essence of the proposed technical solution is illustrated using the figure (Fig.), Which shows a General view of the electrode. The electrode consists of an electrically conductive housing 1, to which a copper cup 2 is attached using thread or another method, in which a tungsten insert is located 3. The tungsten insert is preliminarily mounted in a graphite crucible together with a blank made of pure copper (for example, M0 or M00 copper) . The crucible is heated in a vacuum furnace until copper is melted, then the furnace is cooled and a copper billet with a tungsten insert is removed and processed according to FIG. 1. Inside the copper cup is placed a water-cooled tube 4, through which water or distilled water is supplied at a pressure of 0.4-0.5 MPa, providing a fluid flow rate of 4-5 m / s.
