Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to the field of testing materials and products and relates to a method for non-destructive testing of Belleville springs at the stage of manufacture of the product.
The control of heat treatment modes is of great importance in the production of elastic elements. To determine the correctness of the heat treatment operations, test witnesses are tested, which are heat treated together with elastic elements. After manufacturing, the witness samples are subjected to mechanical tests and the study of the microstructure of the alloy. The process takes a very long time, which requires significant time and material costs in conditions of mass production.
The quality of the structural material is determined by the reliability of its work. From this point of view, failure means either destruction, limited damage, loss of tightness or the accumulation of excessive deformations. The most important indicators of material quality are the characteristics of resistance to deformation and fracture. These include, first of all, such characteristics as the yield strength of the material, tensile strength, true tensile strength, elongation after rupture. At the same time, it is possible to establish the dependence of the behavior of the material under operating conditions on the indicated mechanical characteristics by calculation only in a rough approximation. This is explained by the following reasons. The mechanical characteristics are conditional in nature and are determined under simplified conditions that do not correspond to the operational geometry of the test objects, the laws of loading, types of stress-strain state, the number and laws of variation of various external factors and the time factor. Natural fluctuations in the chemical composition and structure, as well as their changes during operation, lead to the fact that the extrapolation of the results of measuring mechanical characteristics during selective destructive testing of samples on the material of work parts, assemblies, units cannot be performed with great accuracy. And finally, the random nature of external influences makes it impossible to accurately describe the operational behavior of the material or structure even with the well-known mechanical characteristics of the material.
The purpose of acoustic emission control is to detect, coordinate and track (monitor) the sources of acoustic emission associated with discontinuities on the surface or in the volume of the vessel wall, welded joint and manufactured parts and components. Acoustic emission control of the technical condition of the objects under investigation is carried out only when a stress state is created in the structure, which initiates the work of acoustic emission sources in the material of the object. For this, the object is subjected to loading by force, pressure, temperature field, etc. The choice of the type of load is determined by the design of the object and its working conditions, the nature of the tests. Non-destructive testing - control of the properties and parameters of the object, in which the suitability of the object for use and operation should not be violated. Traditional non-destructive testing methods (such as ultrasonic, radiation, eddy current) detect geometric heterogeneities by emitting some form of energy into the structure under study. Acoustic emission uses a different approach: firstly, the source of the signal is the material itself, and not an external source, i.e. the method is passive (and not active, like most other control methods). Secondly, unlike other methods, acoustic emission detects the movement of the defect, and not the static inhomogeneities associated with the presence of defects, i.e. acoustic emission method detects developing, and therefore the most dangerous defects. Crack growth, inclusion break, delamination, corrosion, friction, hydrogen embrittlement, leakage of liquid or gas, etc. - These are examples of processes that produce acoustic emissions that can be detected and effectively investigated using this technology.
The acoustic emission control method has a very high sensitivity to growing defects - it allows to reveal, under operating conditions, a crack increment of the order of a millimeter. The ultimate sensitivity of acoustic emission equipment according to theoretical estimates is about 1 × 10-6 mm 2 , which corresponds to the detection of an increase in the length of a crack with a length of 1 μm by 1 μm. Unlike scanning non-destructive testing methods, the AE method does not require careful preparation of the surface of the test object. Therefore, the implementation of the control and its results do not depend on the state of the surface and the quality of its processing.
A known method of detecting developing fatigue cracks in the product by acoustic emission method (SU No. 781690, G01N 29/04, publ. 11/23/1980), which consists in pre-loading the product to a working load, which is then removed for some time to relax residual stresses at the apex cracks. Then, repeated control loading is carried out to the value of the initial load, during which acoustic emission signals are received and the crack development is judged from them.
This method does not have sufficient accuracy, because it does not allow detecting stress concentrators of small magnitude, and also does not provide a clear idea of the development of relaxation processes in the material of a particular product and changes in relaxation of the product over a long period of operation.
Known from RU No. 2210766, G01N 29/14, publ. 08/20/2003, a method of conducting acoustic emission monitoring using single-channel equipment. This method consists in the fact that acoustic emission transducers (PAE) are installed on the surface of the object, acoustic emission monitoring is carried out by periodically polling the PAE using a multiplexer connected to a single-channel device. The object is stepwise loaded with a test load exceeding the workload expected for the controlled product, maintained under it and simultaneously conduct sequential polling of the PAE with a period not exceeding the duration of a series of acoustic emission signals (AE) accompanying the development of a crack. The duration of the series is determined by the destruction of a sample made of a material that is identical in chemical, phase and structural composition to the material of the object, and a thickness equal to the thickness of the walls of the object, during the control record the parameters of AE signals and classify the source of AE signals according to the degree of danger.
In contrast to the method for detecting developing fatigue cracks according to SU No. 781690, the method according to RU No. 2210766 allows us to conclude that there is a danger of crack development according to the series duration parameter, but does not give an idea of the relaxation processes of a particular product for a long period of operation. The main disadvantage is testing with products with intentionally caused defects from a material that is identical in chemical, phase and structural composition to the material of the object, and a thickness equal to the thickness of the walls of the object with subsequent classification according to the degree of danger. As well as multiple loading by force, exceeding the working load during operation, which is unacceptable in the process of controlling elastic elements.
иThe closest adopted as a prototype is the solution described in RU No. 2210766, G01N 29/14, publ. 08/20/2003), and relating to a method for predicting the relaxation resistance of disk springs, which consists in loading the test sample (disk spring) with load and recording acoustic emission signals during loading, the loading of the test sample is carried out in two stages, the first of which the test sample in during short-term compression three times load to maximum deformation with registration of acoustic emission signals at each load to establish the dependence N 1 total. > N 2total > N 3total and

The present invention provides an operational method for determining the microstructure quality of a titanium alloy of an elastic element of a disk spring type by acoustic emission.
The studies that formed the basis of this method were carried out on control samples. The studies were carried out without using the method of recording acoustic emission.
3).Group 3 - (TP-3) made of alloy VT23. The heat treatment mode in the Quenching operation consisted in heating the spring to 850 ° C, holding it at this temperature for 60 minutes and cooling in water. The operation "Aging" consisted in holding TP-3 for 10 hours at a temperature of 450 ° C. The physicomechanical characteristics of the VT23 TP-3 titanium alloy were determined by conducting mechanical tensile tests (Table 1 — physicomechanical characteristics of the VT23 material of group 3).
Metallographic analysis was performed on longitudinal and transverse microsections after etching in a 10% aqueous solution of hydrofluoric acid (Fig. 1). Grain size was evaluated according to the GOST 5639 scales, microstructure - according to the 9-point scale OST 92-9465-81. 550°C. The physicomechanical characteristics of the VT23 TP-4 titanium alloy were determined by conducting mechanical tensile tests (Table 2 — physicomechanical characteristics of the VT23 material of group 4).
550°C.Metallographic analysis was performed on longitudinal and transverse microsections after etching in a 10% aqueous solution of hydrofluoric acid. Presumably, at some of the heat treatment modes, deviations from the specified modes occurred. The physicomechanical characteristics of the VT23 TP titanium alloy of
The microstructure of the samples studied consists of the primary α-phase in the form of globules and plates, the equilibrium δ-
The studies of the quality of the microstructure by microsections led to the conclusion about the dependencies that formed the basis of a new method for the qualitative determination of the microstructure of an alloy of an elastic element.
Диапазон измерения амплитуды сигнала АЭ 0,3 мВ…10 В (4…100 дБ) (http://www.ooo-pribor.ru/equipment/id23026/).Studies were conducted using the acoustic emission device "Ranis-11" (Fig. 8). The photograph shows the main electronic unit of the acoustic emission system, an external amplifier, a signal recording sensor, a magnetic clip. The Ranis-11 device is used for recording and measuring acoustic emission signals in order to search for defects in pipelines, pressure vessels, reservoirs, parts and units of machines and mechanisms with a surface roughness in the places of installation of acoustic emission transducers (PAE) of not more than 40 microns, radius the curvature at the installation site of the PAE is not less than 100 mm, the propagation speed of the
10.In Fig.7 shows a diagram of the loading of a Belleville spring in the stand with the registration of acoustic emission signals. This stand includes an
10-12.As part of the acoustic emission study of the quality of the microstructure of a titanium alloy of an elastic element of a disk spring type, three times loading of disk spring samples of
For each loading of each sample of
N 1 - the maximum total AE recorded during the first compression,
N 2 - the maximum total AE recorded during the second compression,
N 3 - maximum total AE recorded during the third compression.
3.In the general case, such a graph of the maximum values of AE signals for three reductions is shown in Fig. 9, where 1 is a spring,
The method consists in the fact that the signal level during the second compression is limited to the interval in which signals are recorded for springs with a certain state of the microstructure. That is, if:
5639.N 2 ≤A1, then the microstructure of the alloy corresponds approximately (qualitatively) to 4-5 points according to GOST5639.
5639.N 2 ≤A2, then the microstructure of the alloy corresponds to approximately (qualitatively) 6-7 points according to GOST5639.
5639.N 2 ≤A3, then the microstructure of the alloy corresponds approximately (qualitatively) to 7-8 points according to GOST5639.
Более низкий БАЛЛ соответствует более низкому уровню сигналов, 4-5 балл - А1 - 200-250, 6-7 балл - А2 - 550-650,7-8 балл - A3 - 2000-2500.Studies of the microstructure according to the existing method of manufacturing a microsection confirmed the correctness of a new method for the qualitative determination of the microstructure of an alloy of an elastic element. A lower BALL corresponds to a lower signal level, 4-5 points - A1 - 200-250, 6-7 points - A2 - 550-650.7-8 points - A3 - 2000-2500.
The new method will allow to quickly evaluate the microstructure of the finished product without any additional tests in mass production.
