Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to non-ferrous metallurgy, in particular, to a technology for producing fine molybdenum powders, which are used in the production of carbide materials and molybdenum ferroalloys. An important characteristic of powders is dispersion, which determines the technological conditions for the further processing of powders.
[1].A traditional method for producing a molybdenum metal powder is to reduce its oxide (MoO 3 ) with hydrogen in tube furnaces. Recovery proceeds with gradual heating from 700 to 1100 ° C [1].
The disadvantages of hydrogen reduction include low productivity, increased explosion hazard, high costs.
A known method of producing molybdenum powder in a gas-phase process; reduction takes place between a reducing gas, for example hydrogen, and vapors of molybdenum chlorides, fluorides at 900-1200 ° С [2]. In another embodiment, the reduction of the starting higher chlorides and fluorides is carried out in a high-temperature (above 2000 ° С) stream of hydrogen or a mixture of argon and hydrogen.
[3].The disadvantages of methods for the recovery of metals from halogens include the complexity of the hardware design, high corrosivity of the medium at 2000 ° C, high consumption of reagents [3].
Способ электролитического осаждения молибдена из растворов в расплавленных солях: (NaCl - KCl; KCl - KF) на катоды из различных материалов (графита, карбида кремния, хрома и др.).The method of electrolytic deposition of molybdenum from solutions in molten salts: (NaCl - KCl; KCl - KF) on cathodes of various materials (graphite, silicon carbide, chromium, etc.).
[4].Its disadvantages are high energy intensity and relatively low productivity of the process [4].
A known method of producing molybdenum and tungsten powders, including mixing the starting compounds with zinc, the restoration of the mixture in a closed reactor at 700 ° C.
[5].The disadvantages of the method are: high consumption of zinc (40-50% of the mass of the starting compounds) and the need for dispersion of the cake formed as a result of burning zinc [5].
[6].Closest to the claimed invention is a method for producing a metal molybdenum powder, in which the powder is obtained by reducing oxygen compounds of molybdenum with magnesium in an environment of molten alkali metal salts of NaCl, KCl, Na 2 CO 3 , K 2 CO 3 and their binary mixtures [6].
(NaCl, KCl, Na2CO3, K2CO3).The disadvantages of this method include, according to the description of the invention, the high consumption of magnesium - an expensive metal reducing agent and solvent reagents (NaCl, KCl, Na 2 CO 3 , K 2 CO 3 ).
The technical task of the invention is to reduce costs in the production of metal molybdenum powder by replacing and reducing the consumption of reagents.
The problem is achieved in that in the method for producing molybdenum powder, oxygen compounds of molybdenum are reduced with aluminum metal in a reduced volume of molten salts of NaCl, KCl, NaCl-KCl at 770-850 ° C. The composition of the mixture is maintained based on the ratio: molybdenum oxide - solvent (NaCl, KCl, NaCl - KCl), equal to 1: 3-5. Powder of aluminum metal is taken in an amount corresponding to the calculated by the reaction:
МоО3+2Al=Мо+Al2O3,MoO 3 + 2Al = Mo + Al 2 O 3 ,
или с избытком 10% относительно расчетного.or with an excess of 10% relative to the calculated.
The advantage of the proposed technological solution is that the method provides a finely dispersed molybdenum powder with lower costs by replacing magnesium with aluminum and reducing the consumption of solvent (KCl, NaCl) by 2–3 times while maintaining the complete yield and purity of the target product.
