Description
The invention relates to the field of nanotechnology, to the synthesis of colloidal solutions of luminescent semiconductor materials used for applying semiconductor coatings and as luminescent markers.
Large-Scale Nonhydrolytic Sol-Gel Synthesis of Uniform-Sized Ceria Nanocrystals with Spherical, Wire, and Tadpole Shapes. // Angew. Chem. Int. A known method for the synthesis of cerium dioxide nanocrystals capable of forming colloidal solutions (Taekyung Yu, Jin Joo, Yong II Park, Taeghwan Hyeon. Large-Scale Nonhydrolytic Sol-Gel Synthesis of Uniform-Sized Ceria Nanocrystals with Spherical, Wire, and Tadpole Shapes. / / Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. 2005, V.44, P.7411-7414), which includes the heat treatment of a mixture of cerium nitrate, oleylamine, oleic acid, trioctylamine at a temperature of 320 ° C in an inert atmosphere, isolation and purification the resulting CeO 2 particles by solvent replacement and redispersion of the obtained particles in a non-polar solvent. A disadvantage of the known method is that it is used only to obtain cerium dioxide, which is characterized by the absence of a number of functional properties (photoluminescence, photocatalysis) in comparison with zinc oxide.
Известен способ синтеза квантовых точек оксида цинка, способных к образованию коллоидных растворов (Chang G. Kim, Kiwhan Sung, Taek-Mo Chung, Duk Y. Jung and Yunsoo Kim. Monodispersed ZnO nanoparticles from a single molecular precursor. // CHEM. A known method of synthesis of quantum dots of zinc oxide, capable of forming colloidal solutions (Chang G. Kim, Kiwhan Sung, Taek-Mo Chung, Duk Y. Jung and Yunsoo Kim. Monodispersed ZnO nanoparticles from a single molecular precursor. // CHEM. COMMUN. , 2003, P.2068-2069), which includes heat treatment of a solution of [EtZnO i Pr] in a trioctylphosphide oxide melt at 160 ° C in an inert atmosphere for 5 hours, isolation and purification of the obtained ZnO particles by solvent replacement and redispersion of the obtained particles in a non-polar solvent. The disadvantage of this method is the very high cost of the starting reagents, which leads to an extremely high cost of the materials obtained, which makes it difficult to use this method in industry.
Известен метод синтеза гексагональных частиц оксида цинка в результате термолиза олеата цинка ([Sang-Hyun Choi, Eung-Gyu Kim, Jongnam Park, Kwangjin An, Nohyun Lee, Sung Chul Kim, and Taeghwan Hyeon. Large-Scale Synthesis of Hexagonal Pyramid-Shaped ZnO Nanocrystals from Thermolysis of Zn-Oleate Complex. // J. Phys. Chem. B., 2005, Vol.109, No.31, P.14792-14794]), A known method for the synthesis of hexagonal zinc oxide particles by thermolysis of zinc oleate ([Sang-Hyun Choi, Eung-Gyu Kim, Jongnam Park, Kwangjin An, Nohyun Lee, Sung Chul Kim, and Taeghwan Hyeon. Large-Scale Synthesis of Hexagonal Pyramid-Shaped ZnO Nanocrystals from Thermolysis of Zn-Oleate Complex. // J. Phys. Chem. B., 2005, Vol.109, No.31, P.14792-14794]), which is selected as a prototype. This synthesis method involves the synthesis of zinc oleate complex from zinc chloride, then mixing the obtained zinc oleate, oleylamine and oleic acid, heat treating the mixture at a temperature of 300 ° C in an inert atmosphere, isolating and purifying the obtained ZnO particles by solvent replacement and redispersing the obtained particles in a non-polar solvent. A disadvantage of the known method is the difficulty of its implementation due to multi-stage; in addition, the size of the ZnO particles obtained as a result of synthesis is 30–50 nm, which excludes the possibility of quantum-size effects and complicates the use of these particles in the form of colloidal solutions.
Изобретение направлено на изыскание способа получения коллоидных растворов наночастиц оксида цинка с характерным размером частиц 4-10 нм в неполярных растворителях, характеризующийся пониженной себестоимостью получаемого продукта за счет использования неорганического прекурсора цинка (нитрата цинка).The invention is directed to finding a method for producing colloidal solutions of zinc oxide nanoparticles with a characteristic particle size of 4-10 nm in non-polar solvents, characterized by a reduced cost of the resulting product through the use of an inorganic zinc precursor (zinc nitrate).
The problem is solved in that the method for producing colloidal solutions of zinc oxide in non-polar solvents includes heating the reaction mixture from oleylamine, oleic acid and an inorganic zinc-containing precursor in an inert atmosphere, isothermal aging, adding a polar solvent, separating coagulated nanoparticles by centrifugation, dissolving in redispersion , but unlike the prototype, zinc nitrate is used as a zinc-containing precursor with heating the reaction mixture to 80-100 ° C for 15-30 minutes and then heating at a temperature of 200-250 ° C for 1-4 hours. Diphenyl ether and hexadecane are further added to the initial reaction mixture.
The following starting reagents are used for the synthesis of colloidal solutions of zinc oxide: zinc nitrate hexahydrate (Zn (NO 3 ) 2 * 6H 2 O, analytical grade, Aldrich), oleylamine (C 18 H 37 N, tech., Fluka), oleic acid (CH 3 (CH 2 ) 7 CH = CH (CH 2 ) 7 COOH, b.p., Fluka), hexadecane (C 16 H 34 , part, Himmed), diphenyl ether (C 12 H 10 O , analytical grade, Fluka). During the synthesis, the following solvents are also used for purification and formation of colloidal solutions: acetone (C 3 H 6 O, parts, Himmed), heptane (C 7 H 16 , reference, Ecros). The synthesis is carried out in a three-necked flask in an inert atmosphere (argon, hours) using a reflux condenser to prevent the evaporation of low-boiling reaction components. For synthesis, the specified amounts of zinc nitrate, oleylamine, oleic acid and hexadecane are placed in a flask and heated to 80-100 ° C, followed by exposure at this temperature for 15-30 minutes. Heating is carried out using a mantle with temperature control of the reaction mixture using an external thermocouple. Isothermal exposure at this temperature leads to the complete dissolution of zinc nitrate in the reaction medium with the formation of zinc carboxylates (zinc oleate). After complete dissolution of zinc nitrate, a predetermined amount of diphenyl ether is added to the reaction mixture, after which the flask is heated to a temperature of 150-320 ° C, followed by isothermal exposure at this temperature for 60-240 minutes.
The resulting solution was cooled, a 3-fold excess of acetone was added to it, after which a white precipitate (coagulated colloidal particles of zinc oxide) precipitated. The precipitate is separated by centrifugation, after which it is redispersed in heptane.
ZnO.The analysis of the obtained colloidal solutions is carried out using optical spectroscopy methods (on an OceanOptics QE-6500 spectrophotometer, followed by determining the position of the edge of the absorption band, calculating the band gap of zinc oxide and calculating particle sizes using the effective mass model) and transmission electron microscopy (using a transmission electron microscope) Leo 912AB, followed by determination from photographs of the size of 200-300 particles and determination of the average particle size). According to published data, the mechanism of formation of zinc oxide from Zn 2+ ions under the conditions described above is the high-temperature solvolysis of zinc carboxylate with the formation of a Zn-OH bond; during subsequent dehydration, ZnO is formed.
It was found that synthesis at temperatures below 175 ° C does not lead to the formation of colloidal particles of zinc oxide. It was also shown that heat treatment at temperatures above 275 ° C leads to the formation of a polydisperse product containing particles of crystalline zinc oxide with a size of 10-10000 nm. At the same time, in the range of 200-250 ° C, the formation of colloidal particles of zinc oxide, soluble in non-polar solvents, is observed. The study of the influence of the synthesis temperature on the micromorphology of the obtained particles showed that an increase in the synthesis temperature naturally leads to an increase in the average particle size both according to optical spectroscopy and TEM data. At the same time, an increase in the duration of synthesis also contributes to a certain decrease in the average particle size, which may indicate the solubility of ZnO particles in the reaction medium. The effect of adding an inert high boiling solvent (hexadecane) to the reaction medium was also investigated. It was found that the addition of hexadecane naturally contributes to a decrease in particle size. Thus, the variation of the synthesis parameters studied by us (temperature, duration, composition of the reaction medium) allows us to obtain colloidal ZnO solutions with a characteristic particle size of 4-10 nm.

Thus, the developed synthesis method allows one to obtain colloidal solutions of zinc oxide nanoparticles in nonpolar solvents. The advantages of the present invention are the use of zinc nitrate as a zinc precursor, which will significantly reduce the cost of synthesis by eliminating the use of expensive organozinc reagents, and the one-step process, which reduces the number of process steps and, as a result, simplifies and cheapens production.
