Abstract
Description
The invention relates to methods for producing nanoparticles that can be used in various fields of technology.
A known method of producing nanoparticles of metals and metal ions in an aqueous solution (Butenko A.V. et al. Atoms, molecules and clusters, 1990, v. 17, p. 283). According to this method, hydrazine and hydrogen in an inert gas medium are used as a reducing agent. The main disadvantage of this method is the low stability of the obtained particles. To counteract their aggregation, it is necessary to use organic stabilizers.
(Pileni M.P. Nanosized particles made in colloidal assemblies // Langmair. - 1997, V.13, P.3266). Closest to the proposed invention is a method for producing nanoparticles by reducing metal ions to metals using the example of Cu, Co, Fe ions in a system of direct micelles obtained from functional surfactants: Cu (DS) 2 , Co (DS) 2 , Fe (DS) 2 where DS is dodecyl sulfate ion (Pileni MP Nanosized particles made in colloidal assemblies // Langmair. - 1997, V.13, P.3266). Using the known method, it is possible to reduce the aggregation of metal particles. As reducing agents use hydrazine hydrate, borohydride. An inert gas is passed through the reaction mixture to prevent oxidation of metal particles. As templates (templates), the micelle surface is used, where the concentration of metal ions is increased.
An object of the present invention is to simplify the process for producing metal nanoparticles.
The technical result is achieved by the fact that in the known method for producing metal nanoparticles and metal hybrids by reducing metal ions in a direct micelle system, including the preparation of a direct micellar dispersion of a reducing agent based on a solution of functional surfactants in water and in an inert gas medium, according to the invention, commercially available surfactants are used Surfactants of anionic and cationic types with alkali metal and halogen counterions, and s-dodecylisothiuronium chloride as an additional stabilizer.
The difference from the known methods lies in the fact that the role of templates for nanoparticles is played by the hydrocarbon parts of surfactant micelles, because less than the critical micelle concentration of spherical micelles (KKM 1 ), nanoparticles do not form in solution. At the same time, these same surfactants act as stabilizers for the dispersion of nanoparticles in water.
The ease of implementation of the proposed method is based on a new understanding of the structure of the micelle. It is generally accepted that the classical micelle is a hydrocarbon drop surrounded by surfactant counterions. Such an idea of the structure of the micelle does not allow us to consider the possibility of penetration of metal ions into the hydrocarbon drop of the micelle. Therefore, it is believed that the hydrocarbon part of the micelle cannot act as a template (template). For this reason, researchers have not used commercially available surfactants for the synthesis of nanoparticles.
The implementation of the method became possible after the proof by one of the authors of the hypothesis of the duality of the properties of micelles. It has been shown that micelles of ionic surfactants are bistable and exist in two states: in the “contact” state, when the hydrocarbon groups of the surfactant are in contact, and in the “hydrated” state, when the hydrocarbon groups are separated by a layer into one water molecule. It is energetically more beneficial for reduced metal ions to penetrate into the hydrated associate of a micelle than to be in an aqueous solution. Water molecules inside the hydrate associate exist with broken hydrogen bonds. Therefore, an increased concentration of reduced ions is created in this object, which contributes to the formation of metal nanoparticle nuclei.
Доказательством того, что углеводородные части мицелл выступают в роли темплат, является получение гибридов Pt-Ni в прямых мицеллах цетилтриметиламмоний бромида (ЦТАБ).The proof that the hydrocarbon parts of micelles act as templates is the production of Pt-Ni hybrids in direct micelles of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB).
A positively charged metal ion cannot be located on the surface of spherical or rod-shaped micelles next to a positively charged CTAB ion. From this we can conclude that the metal ion penetrates into the micelles, which act as templates for the synthesis of nanoparticles.
Ni 2+ ions are not reduced either from an aqueous solution or from a micellar surfactant solution in the absence of a complex [PtCl 6 ] 2- ion. If Ni 2+ ions in the presence of [PtCl 6 ] 2- are reduced from CTAB solutions in which spherical micelles are present, then mainly spherical nanoparticles are formed. KKM 1 of CTAB is 8 · 10 -4 M, and KKM of 2 when spherical micelles are formed is 7.24 · 10 -3 M. If inorganic ions are reduced with hydrazine hydrate in an alkaline medium from CTAB solutions in which cylindrical micelles are used, then In the process, mainly rod-shaped Pt-Ni nanoparticles are formed. The reduction reaction proceeds while sparging through the reaction mixture of nitrogen as a protective gas in accordance with the equations:
The obtained nanodispersions of Pt-Ni in the presence of CTAB were unstable. The nanoparticles in the dispersion quickly aggregated, which made it difficult to obtain their micrographs. To stabilize the dispersion, s-dodecylisothiuronium chloride (DTC) is used in an amount necessary for the formation of a monomolecular layer of DTC on the surface of nanohybrids. The excess alkali remaining after reactions (1) and (2), reacts with DTB according to the equation:
[C12H25-S-C(NH2)2]++OH-+H2O→C12H25-SH+СO2+2NH3.[C 12 H 25 -SC (NH 2 ) 2 ] + + OH - + H 2 O → C 12 H 25 -SH + CO 2 + 2NH 3 .
Ni.In this case, dodecyl mercaptan is formed, which is well adsorbed by nanohybrids, possibly due to the formation of covalent bonds with the surface atoms of Pt and Ni.
Pt.The molar concentration of surfactants is maintained in the range from KKM 1 , at which the formation of spherical micelles begins to a concentration including the region of formation of the hexagonal phases of cylindrical micelles. The molar concentration of nickel salt should not exceed 20% of the molar concentration of cationic surfactant; her choice is limited by the size of the micelle in the hydrated state. The molar concentration of H 2 [PtCl 6 ] is maintained in the range from 0.5 to 2.5% of the molar concentration of nickel salt. In this case, the lower limit is limited by the properties of Pt to catalyze the reduction of Ni 2+ , and the upper limit by the inexpediency of an increased consumption of Pt.

The invention can be illustrated by the following examples.
Prepare a micellar solution of CTAB 0.005 M concentration. In it, mainly spherical micelles form and rod-like micelles also begin to form. The transitions between these forms of micelles are smooth. A solution of NiCl 2 and H 2 [PtCl 6 ] is added to the same solution to a concentration of 0.015 and 0.005 M, respectively. The prepared solution is degassed from the oxygen dissolved in it by bubbling through a solution of N 2 for 10 minutes at atmospheric pressure. Then, in accordance with the stoichiometry of equations (1) and (2), hydrazine hydrate and 1.5 excess KOH are added. Stirring is continued for another 20 minutes. Then add the calculated amount of DTB and mix again for 20 minutes. The content of Pt and Ni in nanohybrids is determined on a Quantum Z. ETA atomic absorption spectrometer. The hybrid consists of 97.5% Ni and 2.5% Pt. The Ni / Pt ratio corresponds to the ratio of the concentrations of NiCl 2 and H 2 [PtCl 2 ] taken to obtain nanohybrids. The size of the nanoparticles was determined using an electron microscope. In a 0.005 M solution of CTAB, 88% of spherical nanohybrids with an average particle size of 8.7-10.7 nm are formed (Fig. 1).
Prepare a 0.02 M micellar solution of CTAB. In this solution, an equilibrium is established between spherical and rod-shaped micelles. The remaining operations are carried out analogously to example 1. In a 0.02 M CTAB micellar solution, 66% of spherical nanoparticles have a diameter of 7 to 9 nm and 81% of rod-like micelles have a length of 15 to 17 nm (FIG. 2).
Prepare 0.15 M micellar solution of CTAB. It forms mainly the hexagonal phases of cylindrical micelles. The remaining operations are carried out analogously to example 1. In a 0.15 M CTAB solution, 78% of spherical nanoparticles have a diameter of 9 to 11 nm and 40% of rod-shaped nanoparticles have a length of 14 to 17 nm (FIG. 3).
Pt-Ni.With an increase in the concentration of CTAB, the concentration of rod-shaped micelles and, accordingly, the concentration of rod-shaped hybrids of Pt-Ni increase.

4. Purge with nitrogen for 3 minutes. The solution from the second tube is poured into the first tube and mixed using an ultrasonic dispersant for 15 min at 44 kHz. Example 6. Prepare two tubes of components. The solution was purged with nitrogen for 3 minutes. Then the solution from the second tube is poured into the first and mixed with an ultrasonic dispersant for 15 min at 44 kHz. Next, 2 ml of a 2 M KOH solution was added and stirred for another 15 minutes. A micellar dispersion of dark gray Gd nanoparticles with a size of 30-40 nm is obtained.
As follows from the above examples, the invention allows to obtain gadolinium nanoparticles, Pt-Ni hybrids, using commercially available AOT and CTAB without preliminary preparation of functional surfactants.
Thus, the invention ensures the achievement of a technical result and can be used to obtain metal nanoparticles in the form of micellar dispersions. Pt-Ni hybrids can also be used to create magnetic devices, as their powders have an increased magnetic susceptibility (Fig.6). With a decrease in the size of the magnetic particle to the nanometer range, it turns from a particle that includes many domains into a single domain. As a result of this, the induction vectors of the magnetic fields of nanohybrids turn out to be directed approximately along the direction of the induction vector of the external field, and the magnetic field in the resulting material is amplified.
