Abstract
Description
The invention relates to electroplating, in particular to the production of composite electrochemical coatings (CEC) from chromium electrolytes using, as the second phase, ultrafine powder (UDP) of silicon carbide.
п.The scope of the proposed coatings coincides with the scope of conventional and well-known composite coatings based on chromium. But economically and technologically, it is most expedient to use them instead of chromodiamonds for surface hardening of tools, tooling, machine parts and mechanisms operating at elevated temperatures (above 200-300 ° C): a press tool for powder metallurgy, tool production parts - punches, dies, dies, holders of punches, etc., details of the piston group of internal combustion engines, etc.
A known method for producing composite chromium-diamond coatings [1], characterized by introducing into the electrolyte the so-called diamond-containing charge (diamondographite) in an amount of 5-10 kg / m 3 in terms of ultrafine diamonds (UDD) instead of UDD (TU 84-1124-87) with the aim reducing the cost of coverage due to the high cost of UDD themselves. The disadvantage of this method is that it does not provide the required high physical and mechanical characteristics and structure of coatings for critical and precision assemblies.
Of the known closest to the proposed technical essence is a method for producing composite metal-diamond coatings [2], in which an ultrafine diamond powder with a specific surface area of 400,000-500,000 m 2 / kg in an amount of 2-20 kg / m 3 is introduced into the chromium electrolyte, and deposition the coating is carried out at a temperature of 50-60 ° C and a current density of 40-60 A / dm 2 . The result is an increase in microhardness, wear resistance, corrosion resistance of the coating due to the formation of a non-porous, submicrocrystalline, ordered structure. The disadvantages of the method are the complication of the technology for the preparation of a stable electrolyte-diamond suspension and the operation of an electrolyte, limited at elevated temperatures (above 200-300 ° C), the service life due to destruction due to oxidation of diamond powder particles with a specific surface of 400,000-500,000 m 2 / kg, impregnated into the surface layers of the chromium matrix, when the processing tool is heated during operation.
The objective of the invention is to increase the service life of coatings at elevated temperatures while simplifying the technology of preparation and operation of the electrolyte suspension.
The essence of the invention lies in the fact that in a method for producing composite electrochemical coatings based on chromium, comprising introducing an ultrafine powder (UDP) into an electrolyte and precipitating at a temperature of 50-60 ° C and a current density of 50-60 A / dm 2 , as an ultrafine powder silicon carbide UDP with a specific surface area of 20000-40000 m 2 / kg in the amount of 6-8 kg / m 3 is introduced, containing not more than 1.0 wt.% impurities of free (not carbide bound) carbon and vacuum-heat treated at a temperature of 600 -700 ° C for at least 0.5 hours with a residue rated pressure no more than 75 Pa.
[3]:Ultrafine powder of silicon carbide has the following characteristics [3]:
- содержание кубической β-модификации не менее 96,0 мас.%;- the content of the cubic β-modification is not less than 96.0 wt.%;
- величина удельной поверхности порошка 20000-40000 м2/кг;- the value of the specific surface of the powder 20000-40000 m 2 / kg;
- содержание примеси свободного (несвязанного в карбид) углерода не более 1,0 мас.%;- the impurity content of free (unbound to carbide) carbon is not more than 1.0 wt.%;
- термоокислительная устойчивость на воздухе - до 700°С;- thermo-oxidative stability in air - up to 700 ° C;
- коррозионностоек при температуре 25-80°С в электролитах любой кислотности;- corrosion resistant at a temperature of 25-80 ° C in electrolytes of any acidity;
- стоек к коагуляции в растворах электролитов после вакуум-термической обработки при температуре 600-700°С в течение не менее 0,5 часа при остаточном давлении не более 75 Па, в результате чего легко перемешивается с электролитом и эффективен при относительно низком содержании в электролите;- resistant to coagulation in electrolyte solutions after vacuum-heat treatment at a temperature of 600-700 ° C for at least 0.5 hours at a residual pressure of not more than 75 Pa, as a result of which it is easily mixed with the electrolyte and is effective at a relatively low content in the electrolyte ;
In contrast to the UDD introduced into the electrolyte using conventional methods with great difficulty (the duration of mixing can be 50-80 hours), or according to the multi-operation prolonged (6-48 hours) proposed by the authors of [2], depending on the achieved concentration of UDD 2-20 kg / m 3 technology, vacuum-thermally treated UDP of silicon carbide is introduced into the electrolyte and mixed with it quite easily.
е. The crystallographic (i.e. structural) and dimensional proximity of silicon carbide to diamond provides a high degree of perfection in the texture of chromium coatings and determines the comparability of their properties such as wear resistance, microhardness, and corrosion resistance.

2, 3, 4.The technological feasibility of using UDP silicon carbide with a specific surface area of 20000-40000 m 2 / kg, limiting the content of free (not carbide-bound) carbon in it and carrying out its preliminary vacuum-heat treatment is confirmed by the data given in Tables 2, 3, 4.
In all examples, the thickness of the chromium carbide coating was 15 μm. The current density during the deposition process is selected in the range of 50-60 A / dm 2 from the conditions for obtaining a bright shiny coating on the parts. It has been experimentally proved that at a current density below 50 A / dm 2 the coating is matte, which directly affects the decrease in wear resistance and corrosion resistance.
The wear resistance of the obtained chromium carbide coatings was determined on a SMC-2 friction machine under sliding friction with lubrication at a load of 98 N, the sliding speed is 1.15 m / s, on 30KhGSA steel samples according to the scheme: a rotating disk (counterbody) —a fixed disk with a thickness coatings of 15 microns. A disk 180 mm in diameter, 0.5 mm thick, hardened to a hardness of 50-55 HRC was used as a counterbody. Microhardness was measured on a PMT-3 microhardness meter with a load of 200 g.
The corrosion resistance of the coating was determined by immersion in a 3% sodium chloride solution, followed by determination of the number of corrosion lesions on 5 cm 2 of the surface after 100 hours of testing.
