Abstract
Description
The invention relates to measuring equipment and can be used to configure strain gauge sensors with a bridge measuring circuit for temperature error.
There is a method of compensating additive and multiplicative temperature errors of a bridge circuit, which consists in calculating the values of thermally dependent compensation resistors, to compensate for additive and multiplicative temperature errors, connecting them to the bridge circuit of the sensor, installing them in the sensor housing and then checking the additive and multiplicative temperature errors (see Design of sensors for measuring mechanical quantities. Edited by E.P. Osadchy, 1979). However, the use of this method when configuring sensors is extremely difficult for the following reasons.
1. When changing the supply voltage of the sensor during operation compared to the supply voltage during setup and certification, additional temperature errors appear. The nature of their occurrence is twofold, that is, two mechanisms of the formation of temperature errors are simultaneously present:
- изменение коэффициента преобразования функции преобразования (ФП) датчика, так как напряжение питания непосредственно входит в коэффициент преобразования;- change the conversion coefficient of the conversion function (FP) of the sensor, since the supply voltage is directly included in the conversion coefficient;
- искажение температурных полей и полей температурных деформаций УЭ в зоне установки тензорезисторов при изменении степени разогрева тензорезисторов током питания.- distortion of temperature fields and fields of temperature deformations of REs in the installation zone of the strain gages when the degree of heating of the strain gages by the supply current changes.
П., 1979 г.).The first factor is characteristic only when the sensor operates in the output signal mode, when the decoding of the measured parameter is carried out according to the nominal conversion function (NFP). When the sensor is operating in the mode of relative changes in the resistance (calibration mode), this mechanism for generating additional temperature errors is absent due to the independence of the conversion function (FP) from the voltage of the power source (see Designing sensors for measuring mechanical quantities. Edited by Osadchy EP, 1979 g.).
It is known (see. Designing sensors for measuring mechanical quantities. Edited by Osadchy EP, 1979) that the value of the initial unbalance of a strain gauge sensor with a pre-balanced bridge circuit when exposed to temperature can be written as:
где Uпит - напряжение питания мостовой схемы;where U pit is the supply voltage of the bridge circuit;
- коэффициент симметрии мостовой схемы; - the symmetry coefficient of the bridge circuit;
Δα=(α1+α4)-(α2+α3) - температурный коэффициент сопротивления мостовой измерительной цепи;Δα = (α 1 + α 4 ) - (α 2 + α 3 ) is the temperature coefficient of resistance of the bridge measuring circuit;
α1, α2, α3, α4 - температурные коэффициенты сопротивления рабочих тензорезисторов R1, R2, R3, R4 соответственно;α 1 , α 2 , α 3 , α 4 are the temperature resistance coefficients of the working strain gages R 1 , R 2 , R 3 , R 4, respectively;
Δt=Т-Тo - диапазон изменения температуры;Δt = Т-Т o - temperature variation range;
T and T o - temperature values during operation and in the process of certification, respectively.
To assess the effect of changes in the supply voltage on an additional additive temperature error, we can record the change in the initial unbalance value with a pre-balanced bridge measuring circuit while changing the supply voltage and temperature in the form:
где ΔU - изменение напряжения питания при эксплуатации.where ΔU is the change in supply voltage during operation.
To assess the effect of changes in the supply voltage on the additional multiplicative temperature error, it is necessary, by analogy with the additive temperature sensitivity, to derive an analytical expression for the multiplicative temperature sensitivity of the sensor. For this, it is necessary to sequentially consider the temperature dependences of the individual strain gauges installed on the RE, and then the bridge measuring circuit as a whole.
According to the conversion function of the strain gage, the relative change in resistance under the simultaneous action of deformation ε lo = const and temperature can be written as:
где εlt - относительная деформация УЭ при воздействии температуры;where ε lt is the relative deformation of RE under the influence of temperature;
ΔRtε - приращение сопротивления тензорезистора, установленного на УЭ, при одновременном воздействии постоянной измеряемой деформации и температуры;ΔR tε is the increment of the resistance of the strain gauge mounted on the RE, with the simultaneous action of a constant measured strain and temperature;
Kt - коэффициент тензочувствительности тензорезистора при воздействии температуры;K t is the strain gauge coefficient of the strain gauge when exposed to temperature;
R o - the initial value of the resistance of the strain gauge without exposure to deformation and temperature.
Neglecting the rigidity of the strain gauge and assuming that the relative deformation of the resistivity is equal to the relative strain of the strain gauge installed on it according to Hooke's law, we can write:
где σо - напряжения УЭ при воздействии измеряемого параметра;where σ about - voltage RE when exposed to the measured parameter;
Et - модуль упругости материала УЭ при рабочей температуре Т;E t is the elastic modulus of the RE material at the operating temperature T;
Eо - модуль упругости материала УЭ при начальной температуре То;E o - the elastic modulus of the RE material at the initial temperature T o ;
ηэ - температурный коэффициент модуля упругости материала УЭ.η e is the temperature coefficient of the elastic modulus of the RE material.
Then, expressing K t in terms of the temperature coefficient of strain sensitivity, the conversion function of the strain gauge installed on the RE, with the simultaneous action of deformation and temperature, can be written:
где - относительная деформация УЭ при начальной температуре То;Where - relative deformation of RE at the initial temperature T o ;
εro=Кo·εlo - относительное изменение сопротивления тензорезистора при начальной температуре То;ε ro = K o · ε lo is the relative change in the resistance of the strain gauge at the initial temperature T o ;
αk - температурный коэффициент тензочувствительности тензорезистора;α k is the temperature coefficient of the strain sensitivity of the strain gauge;
To about - the coefficient of strain sensitivity of the strain gauge at the initial temperature T about .
Since the coefficient of strain sensitivity under the influence of temperature can be represented as K t = ε rt / ε lo , then using formula (2), we can write:
From where, having differentiated by temperature, it is possible to determine the temperature coefficient of the strain sensitivity of the strain gauge installed on the RE, with the simultaneous action of deformation and temperature:
That is, to obtain the minimum temperature coefficient of the strain sensitivity of the strain gauge installed on the RE, it is necessary that α k = η e .
To quantify the effect of temperature on the sensitivity of a strain gauge mounted on a RE, we proceed to determine its multiplicative temperature sensitivity. Then, taking into account formula (3), the multiplicative temperature sensitivity of the strain gauge installed on the UE will look like:
According to the conversion function of the resistance strain gauge installed on the RE, with the simultaneous action of constant deformation and a change in temperature, the relative change in the resistance of the i-th strain gauge can be represented
Whence the increment of the relative change in the resistance of the strain gauge due to temperature changes will be:
Then, using the conversion function of the bridge measuring circuit and knowing the increment of the relative change in resistance from temperature of each strain gauge included in the bridge measuring circuit, you can record the change in the output signal of the bridge circuit from temperature with the simultaneous action of deformation and temperature:
Using formula (3), the resulting expression can be represented as:
Due to the fact that the UE is made from one piece of material, the temperature coefficients of the elastic modulus at the points of installation of the strain gages will be equal to each other, since the existing scatter in the manufacturing process of the workpiece can be neglected, that is, η e1 = η e2 = η e3 = η e4 = η e . In addition, due to the fact that strain gauges installed on the UE are made from one coil of the strain gauge (for wire strain gauges) or the manufacture of strain gauges in the bridge circuit is carried out in a single technological cycle (for sensors made in microelectronic design) from one piece (hitch ) of the source material, the spread in the temperature coefficients of the strain sensitivity can be neglected, that is, α к1 = α к2 = α к3 = α к4 = α к . Then the increment of the output signal from a change in the slope of the calibration characteristic with a change in temperature can be written as:
The resulting expression is the basic equation for determining the multiplicative error of a strain gauge sensor when exposed to temperature.
Turning to the temperature sensitivity of the sensor, you can determine the multiplicative temperature sensitivity. Since the sensitivity coefficient of the measuring circuit is equal to the ratio of the output signal to the input, we can write:
а приращение коэффициента чувствительности от изменения температурыand the increment of the sensitivity coefficient from temperature changes
Then the analytical expression of the multiplicative temperature sensitivity will take the form:
Then, with a simultaneous change in the supply voltage and temperature, a change in the output signal can be represented as:
Using expressions (1) and (8), we can evaluate the additive and multiplicative temperature sensitivities when the supply voltage changes:
Where - additive and multiplicative temperature sensitivities in the process of sensor certification, respectively.
An analysis of expressions (9) and (10) shows that additional temperature errors when the sensor supply voltage changes during operation are directly proportional to the magnitude of this change and inversely proportional to the supply voltage. Whence it can be argued that if S ot and S kt are estimated up to the second decimal place (for example, S ot = 0.67 · 10 -4 1 / ° С), then the permissible change in the supply voltage during operation should not exceed ± 0 , 1% U pit .
In addition, if the value of S ' ot depends only on the technological spread of the temperature coefficients of resistance of the working strain gages and can be reduced only by tightening the technology of their manufacture, then to reduce the value of S' kt, it is necessary to choose such materials UE and working strain gages, which meet the requirements (4) and (7), that is, materials with the most approximate values of the temperature coefficient of the strain sensitivity of the strain gauge and the temperature coefficient of the elastic modulus of RE.
1.An analytical assessment of the influence of changes in the supply voltage during setup and certification as compared with operation on the temperature errors of the sensor from distortion of temperature fields and fields of thermal deformations is quite complicated and has significant errors. Therefore, to evaluate additional temperature errors by the second factor, we consider the experimental data of the test results of three metal-film strain gauge pressure sensors with elastic elements in the form of a hard-pressed membrane (type W212). The choice for the study of this type of sensor is explained by its miniature size (the diameter of the working membrane is 5 mm), which allows us to minimize these additional errors and, if we come to the conclusion that it is necessary to take these errors into account in this design, then their consideration on other designs will more necessary. Sensors with working membrane thicknesses of 0.28 mm, 0.36 mm, and 0.96 mm in the temperature range from -196 ° C (liquid nitrogen) to 80 ° C with a supply voltage of 5 to 7 V were examined. supply to the initial level of the output signal (U o ) and highlighting only the temperature effect from distortion of temperature fields and fields of thermal deformations when the supply voltage changes, the latter (U o ) was determined in units of the relative resistance change. The test results are presented in table 1.
Analyzing the obtained results, the following conclusions can be drawn on the effect of changes in the supply voltage on temperature errors:
1. With increasing supply voltage U o increases. This is because the central strain gages are located farther from the massive seal of the membrane than the edge ones. As a result of this, the latter have a better heat sink and heat up less than the central ones from the supply current, which leads to the appearance of an additional positive imbalance U o . In addition, a higher temperature in the center of the membrane than in the termination leads to the appearance of large temperature deformations of strain gauges located in the center of the membrane than in the termination, which also gives an additional positive imbalance.
2. As the membrane thickness increases, the effect of changes in the supply voltage on the temperature error decreases. This is due to the equalization of the temperature field and the field of temperature deformations from heating of the REs by the supply current and with a membrane thickness of 0.96 mm, the influence of changes in the supply voltage on the temperature error is practically absent.
3. The effect of changes in supply voltage on temperature errors at different temperatures is different. It exerts its maximum effect on U o at normal temperatures and this effect decreases at elevated and lowered temperatures, since they have a greater effect on the temperature field of REs than the heat generated from heating the strain gauges by the supply current.
4. Due to the fact that the slope of the characteristic U o from a change in the supply voltage decreases both towards positive and negative temperatures, the values of S ot have different signs (towards the negative temperatures it has a plus sign, and towards positive temperatures it has a sign minus). That is, the characteristic of the temperature error from a change in the supply voltage is non-linear and requires a special approach for its compensation (for example, it cannot be compensated by circuit methods).
5. From the test results it is seen that the additional temperature error from a change in the supply voltage is two to two and a half times higher than the permissible temperature error (S ot = 1 · 10 -4 1 / ° C). Therefore, taking this error into account when designing sensor equipment is mandatory and requires the use of compensation. And due to the fact that compensation is not possible by circuit methods, during setup, certification and operation, it is necessary to tighten the tolerance for changing the supply voltage within ± 0.1% U pit , since in this case the influence of both mechanisms of the appearance of additional temperature errors can will be neglected.
2. A method similar to the previous one affects S ot by the method of heat input and the installation site of compensation elements during the adjustment and certification of sensors.
By the method of heat input we mean contact with the coolants of various sensor elements. For example, during the temperature setting and certification of pressure sensors, they are usually placed in a heat chamber, where the temperature acts on its body, and during operation, where the main coolant is the medium being measured, the temperature acts on the receiving cavity of the sensor. And since the heat fluxes in the sensor’s body and, consequently, the temperature fields and the fields of temperature deformations of REs depend on the place of contact with the medium, additional temperature errors caused by the method of heat input appear during operation.
3. Depending on the installation location in the sensor of the compensation elements, the latter will be in different temperature conditions compared to working strain gages, and this is especially aggravated by various methods of heat supply, which also leads to the appearance of additional temperature errors.
To quantify the effect of the heat supply method and the location of the compensation elements on temperature errors, two types of strain gauge pressure sensors were tested:
- датчика с воспринимающей мембраной и УЭ в виде полого стержня с наклеенными тензорезисторами (типа Вт951) - 2 шт., с разными по величине компенсационными термозависимыми резисторами Rβ;- a sensor with a receiving membrane and RE in the form of a hollow rod with glued strain gauges (type W951) - 2 pcs., with different in magnitude compensation thermally dependent resistors R β ;
- один с диаметром рабочей мембраны 5 мм и компенсационным термозависимым резистором Rβ, напыленным непосредственно на УЭ в месте установки тензорезисторов; второй с диаметром рабочей мембраны 8 мм и с компенсационным термозависимым резистором Rβ, вынесенным за пределы УЭ.- a metal-film sensor with UE in the form of a hard-pressed membrane (type W212) - 2 pcs. - one with a diameter of the working membrane of 5 mm and a compensation thermally dependent resistor R β , sprayed directly on the RE in the place of installation of strain gauges; the second with a diameter of the working membrane of 8 mm and with a compensating thermally dependent resistor R β taken outside the RE.
Sot.Table 2 shows the test results of these sensors when applying heat to the receiving cavity (coolant - liquid nitrogen) and when the sensor is completely immersed in liquid nitrogen. In both cases, the initial level of the output signal was taken and the additive temperature sensitivity of the sensor S ot was determined.
From the analysis of the test results shown in table 2, it can be seen that, depending on the design of the sensor, the location and magnitude of the compensation elements, the influence of the heat input method is different:
- чем больше габариты УЭ датчика (датчик ВТ-951), тем больше искажаются температурное поле и поле температурных деформаций и тем большую погрешность вносит метод подвода тепла;- the larger the dimensions of the UE sensor (VT-951 sensor), the more the temperature field and the field of temperature deformations are distorted and the greater the error is introduced by the method of heat input;
- чем дальше отнесены компенсационные элементы от измерительной схемы (датчик ВТ-212), тем больше изменяется градиент температур между компенсационными элементами и измерительной схемой и тем большую температурную погрешность вносит метод подвода тепла;- the further the compensation elements are assigned from the measuring circuit (VT-212 sensor), the more the temperature gradient changes between the compensation elements and the measuring circuit and the greater the temperature error is introduced by the heat supply method;
- чем больше по величине компенсационное термозависимое сопротивление (датчик ВТ-951), тем большее влияние оказывает на него изменение градиента температур между ним и измерительной схемой, тем большую температурную погрешность вносит метод подвода тепла;- the larger the compensation thermally dependent resistance (VT-951 sensor), the greater the influence of a change in the temperature gradient between it and the measuring circuit, the greater the temperature error is introduced by the method of heat input;
- у варианта датчика ВТ-212 при установке компенсационного термозависимого элемента на УЭ в зоне расположения рабочих тензорезисторов, даже для больших номиналов Rβ дополнительная температурная погрешность меньше, чем для малых номиналов Rβ, но вынесенных за пределы УЭ;- for the VT-212 sensor variant, when a compensating thermally dependent element is installed on the UE in the area where the working strain gages are located, even for large values of R β the additional temperature error is less than for small values of R β , but which are outside of the UE;
- дополнительная температурная погрешность, вносимая методом подвода тепла, может более чем в три раза превышать допустимые значения температурной погрешности датчика, поэтому без учета влияния метода подвода тепла нельзя получить датчик требуемой точности.- the additional temperature error introduced by the method of heat input can more than three times exceed the permissible values of the temperature error of the sensor, therefore, without taking into account the influence of the heat supply method, it is impossible to obtain a sensor of the required accuracy.
Very often, when setting up sensors, they do not take into account the factor of the presence of a temperature difference between the measuring circuit and the compensation elements. Therefore, the compensation elements are positioned arbitrarily in the volume of the sensors, or even outside it, and due to a change in their installation location during the final installation, the temperature gradient between them and the measuring circuit changes. This leads to the fact that the data during setup and certification do not coincide and the more they do not match, the more the temperature gradient changes and the larger the value of the resistor R β . Very often, sensors set up in this way already during certification go beyond the tolerance of the technical conditions [TU] for temperature error.
The invention consists in the following.
The problem to which the invention is directed is to develop a method for tuning strain gauge sensors with a bridge measuring circuit for temperature error, which would improve the accuracy of compensation for additive temperature error during the setup process.
EFFECT: increased accuracy in the process of adjusting strain gauge sensors with a bridge measuring circuit for temperature error.
The specified technical result is achieved by the fact that:
- материалы упругого элемента и рабочих тензорезисторов выбирают из условия максимального приближения по температурному коэффициенту модуля упругости упругого элемента и температурному коэффициенту тензочувствительности рабочих тензорезисторов;- the materials of the elastic element and the working strain gages are selected from the condition of maximum approximation in terms of the temperature coefficient of the elastic modulus of the elastic element and the temperature coefficient of the sensitivity of working strain gages;
- изготовление термозависимых компенсационных резисторов производят по той же технологии, что и рабочие тензорезисторы, но из материала с низким значением коэффициента тензочувствительности (близким к единице);- the manufacture of thermally dependent compensation resistors is carried out according to the same technology as the working strain gauges, but from a material with a low coefficient of strain sensitivity (close to unity);
- установку термозависимых компенсационных резисторов производят на упругом элементе в зоне расположения рабочих тензорезисторов;- the installation of thermally dependent compensation resistors is carried out on an elastic element in the area of the working strain gages;
- настройку и аттестацию датчика проводят при строго фиксированном значении напряжения питания с точностью до ±0,1% номинального значения;- adjustment and certification of the sensor is carried out at a strictly fixed value of the supply voltage with an accuracy of ± 0.1% of the nominal value;
- настройку и проверку температурных погрешностей датчика производят либо в установке, обеспечивающей подачу теплоносителя с температурой, равной температуре рабочей среды в условиях эксплуатации, непосредственно в приемную полость датчика, если основным теплоносителем в процессе эксплуатации является измеряемая среда, либо датчик помещают в камеру тепла, если основным теплоносителем в процессе эксплуатации является окружающая среда.- setting and checking the temperature errors of the sensor is carried out either in the installation, providing a coolant with a temperature equal to the temperature of the working medium in operating conditions, directly into the receiving cavity of the sensor, if the main coolant during operation is the medium being measured, or the sensor is placed in a heat chamber if the main coolant during operation is the environment.
The method is as follows.
In the proposed method, as in the case of compensation according to the prototype, temperature error compensation consists in calculating the values of thermally dependent compensation resistors, to compensate for the additive and multiplicative temperature errors, connect them to the sensor bridge circuit, install them in the sensor housing and then check the additive and multiplicative temperature inaccuracies.
To eliminate the above disadvantages of the prototype during the configuration process, the following requirements must be met:
1. In order to exclude the influence of changes in the supply voltage on the accuracy of the components (additive and multiplicative) temperature errors, it is necessary, on the one hand, to tighten the requirements for changes in the supply voltage during setup, certification and operation, and, on the other hand, to constructively minimize these errors in the initial state before the setup. This can be achieved by tightening the requirement for a change in the supply voltage within ± 0.1% U pit and the choice of UE materials and working strain gages with the most approximate values of the temperature coefficient of the strain sensitivity of the strain gage and the temperature coefficient of the elastic modulus of the UE.
2. To exclude additional temperature errors from the installation site of the temperature-dependent compensation resistor both during the adjustment and certification process, and during the operation of the sensor, and especially when it operates in non-stationary temperature conditions, the temperature gradient is minimized between the measuring circuit and the compensation resistor. This can only be achieved by installing a compensation resistor on the UE directly in the installation zone of the working strain gages. At the same time, ensuring the complete identity of the heat transfer from the UE to the compensation resistor and the working strain gages can be obtained only with one technology for their manufacture and installation on the UE. But since the working strain gages are installed in the zone of influence of RE deformations from the measured parameter, in order to exclude the influence of deformations on the value of the compensation resistor, the latter must be made of a material with a strain sensitivity coefficient close to unity.
3. In order to exclude the influence of the heat supply method on the temperature errors of pressure sensors, the necessary condition for adjustment and certification is to obtain an identical distribution of temperature fields and fields of temperature deformations at the installation sites of strain gauges in comparison with temperature fields and fields of temperature deformations during operation, and especially when sensor operation in non-stationary temperature conditions. This can be obtained only with an identical supply of the coolant to the sensor both during setup and certification, and during operation. Thus, there is a requirement to develop special devices for supplying the coolant to the receiving cavity of the pressure sensor during adjustment and certification for the case when the measured medium is the main coolant during operation of the sensor. If during operation of the sensor the main heat carrier is the environment, then in the process of adjustment and certification it is sufficient to place the sensor in the heat chamber.
