Abstract
Description
The invention relates to electrochemical methods for cleaning and disinfecting industrial, waste and other waters, especially contaminated with metal ions, other inorganic and organic harmful substances. It can be used in enterprises of non-ferrous metallurgy, chemical, electronic, machine-building industry and in other areas of technology.
A known method of electrochemical purification of contaminated liquid by passing it through an electric field formed between the electrodes connected to a constant current source (ed. Certificate. USSR 929583, C 02 F 1/46, publ. 1982). In the process of electrochemical cleaning of contaminated liquid, anode dissolution of the electrodes occurs. The resulting metal hydroxides float along with gas bubbles released at the cathodes. Floating metal hydroxides are mixed with contaminated liquid and coagulate the impurities in it, forming aggregates of these particles. Bubbles of gas released at the cathodes adhere to aggregates of contaminated particles and lift them to the surface of the treated liquid in the form of foam, which is removed. After the passage of the interelectrode space, part of the liquid is withdrawn, mixed with the crude liquid and re-passed through the interelectrode space.
The specified method does not provide a high degree of purification and disinfection of the liquid.
Also known is a more effective method of purification and disinfection of water, in which the water is treated with ozone-containing gas while applying an electric field (ed. Certificate of the USSR 1130533, C 02
The degree of water purification from metal ions and organic compounds in this method also remains low, which does not allow the discharge of treated water into open water bodies.
The proposed method solves the problem of increasing the degree of purification of water from metal ions and organic compounds.
To achieve the specified technical result in a method for purifying and disinfecting water, including treating it with an ozone-containing gas when applying an electric field and ultraviolet irradiation, treating the water with an ozone-containing gas is carried out by mixing them to obtain a mixture with an ozone concentration of 6 to 15 mg / l, the electric field is formed passing through the resulting mixture an electric current with a density of from 0.01 to 0.025 A / cm, and the power of the ultraviolet radiation source is from 100 to 200 watts.
The resulting mixture of water with ozone is treated by applying an electric field and ultraviolet radiation for at least 5 minutes.
Ultraviolet irradiation enhances the activity of the medium formed by the combined action of an ozone-containing gas and an electric field, which allows to increase the degree of purification and disinfection of water without the use of additional purification steps.
It is preferable to mix the treated water with an ozone-containing gas until a finely dispersed suspension with an ozone concentration of 6 to 15 mg / l is obtained, which helps to activate the cleaning and disinfection processes.
The electric field is preferably formed by passing through water an electric current with a density of 0.01-0.025 A / cm 2 in constant or pulsed mode.
Ultraviolet radiation is preferably used from a source with a power of 100-200 W, and water treatment should be performed for at least 5 minutes.
Examples of the implementation of the proposed method are presented in tables 1 and 2, which indicate the composition of impurities in the water before it is purified and after treatment, and also indicates the modes in which the water was purified.
To compare the results obtained, the source water of compositions A and B was treated with ultraviolet radiation in
The source water of composition B was treated with ultraviolet radiation, and the source water of composition G, the main pollution components of which are close to the components of pollution of composition B, was treated without ultraviolet radiation. Other parameters of the water purification process of compositions B and D were the same.
According to the proposed method, the electric field in the water treatment zone was created in different experiments by passing electric current through the water with a density of 0.01 to 0.025 A / cm 2 . The source water was mixed with an ozone-air mixture in the electric field until a finely dispersed suspension with a concentration of ozone in water in different experiments from 6.0 to 15.0 mg / L was obtained. This concentration was maintained during the whole time of the water treatment. A source of ultraviolet radiation was used with power from 100 to 200 watts. Water was treated for 5 to 10 minutes.
The data obtained show that the treatment of contaminated water with ozone in an electric field while irradiating it with ultraviolet radiation increases the degree of purification from metal ions and organic compounds.
