The invention relates to thermal pyrolysis and can be used in the forestry industry for the disposal of wood waste, as well as in agriculture for the disposal, in particular, of straw, stalks and ears of corn, sunflower, husks of millet, rice, cotton, etc.
A known method of thermal processing of materials of plant origin, including the production of charcoal as a result of pyrolysis (RU patent 2039078, IPC 6 C 10 B 53/02, 07/09/95).
The disadvantages of the method include high energy intensity (heat transfer through the wall), a long pyrolysis time, low adsorption activity of charcoal (40-50 ml / 100 g).
A known method of thermal processing of materials of plant origin, including loading the material, its pyrolysis, unloading solid residue (charcoal) (SU patent 1808003, IPC 6 C 10 V 53/02, 04/07/93).
Недостатками способа являются большая энергоемкость процесса (соотношение водяного пара и абсолютно сухой древесины 0,6-1,6: 1 при 400-800oС) и низкая адсорбционная активность получаемого древесного угля (40-50 мл/100 г).The disadvantages of the method are the high energy intensity of the process (the ratio of water vapor and absolutely dry wood 0.6-1.6: 1 at 400-800 o C) and low adsorption activity of the obtained charcoal (40-50 ml / 100 g).
Известен также способ термической переработки биомассы при 650-950oС в среде восстановительного газа, полученного при сжигании углеводородного топлива с коэффициентом расхода воздуха α= 0,4-0,85 (RU патент 2124547, МПК 6 С 10 В 53/02, 10.01.99).There is also known a method of thermal processing of biomass at 650-950 o C in the environment of the reducing gas obtained by burning hydrocarbon fuels with an air flow coefficient α = 0.4-0.85 (RU patent 2124547, IPC 6 C 10 V 53/02, 10.01 .99).
The disadvantage of this method is also the high energy intensity of the process and the insufficiently high adsorption activity of activated carbon (up to 250 ml / 100 g).
The objective of the invention is to reduce the energy intensity of the process and increase the adsorption activity of the resulting charcoal.
1-3: 1.The problem is solved in that in the method of thermal processing of biomass, which includes loading the material into the converter, the pyrolysis of the material is carried out at 650-950 o C in a reducing gas medium, steam is supplied after the end of the pyrolysis and the solid residue is separated, the reducing gas is obtained by burning hydrocarbon fuel with a coefficient air flow α = 0.85-1.1, by mixing the obtained combustion products with biomass pyrolysis gases in a ratio with combustion products 1-3: 1.
0,1-0,25: 1.The problem is also solved by the fact that after the end of the pyrolysis, saturated water vapor is supplied at 105-140 ° C. with a mass ratio of 0.1-0.25: 1 with the processed material.
It is known that the main reagents of the reducing gas are H 2 , CO, CO 2 , H 2 O, CH 4 , C 2 H 4 , C n H m and, therefore, the pyrolysis reaction rate will depend (at equal temperature) on the volume concentration of these gas components. The composition of the reducing gas may vary depending on the coefficient of air flow during the combustion of hydrocarbon fuels, and with an increase in the coefficient, heat generation increases, as well as the content of H 2 O and CO 2 in the fuel combustion products. We found that the biomass pyrolysis gases leaving the converter at 220-350 o C contain the same components as the combustion gases with α = 0.85-1.1 coming from the generator to the biomass pyrolysis. Combining the flows of combustion products and pyrolysis gases leads to the return of heat to the process and an increase in the concentration of the reagents necessary for pyrolysis of biomass: 4 . Due to the return of the pyrolysis gases to the process, the energy intensity of the process is significantly reduced, and the pyrolysis time is reduced.
The limits of the mass ratio of pyrolysis gases and fuel combustion products 1-3: 1 are determined experimentally when processing plant materials of various origins. The lower limit is due to the receipt of the highest pyrolysis temperatures, and the upper - the lowest.
99,7-100%.The supply of saturated steam after the end of pyrolysis in an amount of 0.1-0.25: 1 allows you to cool activated carbon, increase its adsorption activity (iodine number and light transmission of toluene extract). Steam supply in an amount less than 0.1 does not significantly increase the iodine number, and in an amount of more than 0.25 leads to an increase in the iodine number, but significantly reduces the yield of activated carbon. Upon receipt of activated carbon, it is advisable to use saturated steam at 105-140 o C. Using saturated steam allows you to remove the remaining hydrocarbon groups contained on the surface of the coal, and to obtain coal with a light transmission of toluene extract of 99.7-100%.
The drawing shows a diagram of a method for thermal processing of biomass, where 1 is a converter, 2 is a generator, 3 is a mixer, 4 is a cooled hopper, 5 is a blower, 6 is a gas blower.
The method is as follows.
3.Pre-dried biomass is loaded continuously through an airtight feeder from a hopper (not shown) into converter 1, which is a metal case lined inside with refractory material resistant to the reducing environment. In the lower part of the converter through the pipe and the system of holes (not shown), reducing gas is supplied towards the material. The reducing gas is obtained by mixing the combustion products from generator 2 and biomass pyrolysis gases taken by gas blower 6 from converter 1 with a temperature of 230-350 o C and supplied to the mixer 3. The remaining pyrolysis gases are fed to the combustion apparatus (for example, boilers) . Saturated water vapor is supplied to the converter, downstream of the material, at 105-140 ° C, which removes most of the heat from activated carbon and at the same time cleans the surface of the coal from the remaining hydrocarbons. Cooled activated carbon from the bottom of the converter enters the hopper 4 cooled by means of a blower 5, from where heated air enters the generator 2 for burning fuel. The resulting activated carbon has a specific iodine surface of 280-500 ml / 100 g, beats. weight 140-180 kg / m 3 .
3.Example. The woodworking industry wastes loaded into the converter, pre-crushed to 15-35 mm and dried, are heated with reducing gas obtained by mixing the products of combustion of hydrocarbon fuel in the generator with α = 0.85 and pyrolysis gases in a mass ratio to combustion products of 2.8: 1 The pyrolysis time is 25 minutes. Saturated water vapor with a temperature of 110 ° C. is supplied to the lower part of the converter in relation to the processed material 0.1: 1. Activated carbon yield 24.8%, iodine specific surface area 286 ml / 100 g, light transmission of the toluene extract 99.7%, beats coal weight 173 kg / m 3 . The remainder of the pyrolysis gases by gas blowing is fed into the furnace of the boiler, where it is burned with additional fuel supply. In flue gases there is no 3-4-benzpyrene, carbon monoxide, the content of nitrogen oxides 34 mg / m 3 .
The proposed method for processing biomass allows you to use it as an environmentally friendly fuel with the simultaneous production of activated carbon with a high specific surface area.
