Abstract
Description
The invention relates to techniques for mass transfer and wet cleaning of dusty process gases and aspiration air from micron fractions of medium-dispersed dusts that are difficult to wet with water, and can be used in the energy, metallurgical, mining and other industries.
A known apparatus for cleaning gases, which contains a confuser, a neck, a diffuser, a chamber, a droplet eliminator, liquid irrigation nozzles and water seals.
The disadvantage of such devices is low specific irrigation with the introduction of the irrigation liquid only into the diffuser, the limiting value of which is directly dependent on the hydraulic resistance of the apparatus, which makes it impossible to ensure high efficiency of dust collection with a wide dispersed composition over the entire range of physical and chemical properties of gases and dust. In addition, an increase in specific irrigation leads to a significant increase in the flow rate of the irrigation fluid sent to the sludge dump, which ultimately reduces the efficiency of treating recycled (clarified) water and leads to an increase in energy costs for own needs. There is an increase in deposits in the lower dead end of the diffuser.
The disadvantage is the low reliability due to the abrasive wear of the upper part of the diffuser located in the chamber, polluted by the gas stream exiting the neck.
The objective of the invention is to increase the efficiency of the device under various modes and varying degrees of gas pollution, for the entire spectrum of the physico-chemical composition of gases and dust, by increasing the specific irrigation of the gas and a differentiated approach to the purity of the irrigation liquid along the gas being cleaned. Reducing the hydraulic resistance of the gas with high specific irrigation, due to lower speeds in the diffuser and neck, and the intermediate separation of contaminated liquid in the diffuser. Reducing the flow of irrigation fluid due to its repeated use in the device itself. Improving reliability by achieving a relatively low gas velocity in the diffuser and the wettability of all its walls, especially the dead-end zone.
The essence of the invention lies in the fact that in a device for wet cleaning of gases containing a confuser, a mouth, a diffuser, a chamber, a droplet eliminator, liquid irrigation nozzles, and hydraulic locks, the diffuser is made stepwise and includes successive parts, the vertical one - a downward flow of contaminated gas, expanding into the direction of its rotation by 90 o , the horizontal part with a chamber filled with liquid, the vertical part of the upward flow, at the inlet of which nozzles and a tank of irrigating liquid are installed with level, while the droplet eliminator is connected through a water trap to the capacity of the irrigating liquid, and the latter, through the shutter to the chamber.

The device operates as follows.
The dusty gas is accelerated in the confuser 1, enters the neck 3, where it is irrigated with water by the nozzles 2, it is washed and moves to the vertical descending part 4 of the diffuser. Here the gas slows down, and the droplets have a high speed, which leads to intensification of the collision of particles and droplets, and their coagulation. Due to the expansion of the diffuser in the direction of rotation by 90 o , part of the coagulated liquid irrigates the vertical wall and flows into the chamber 6. When turning the gas 90 o at the entrance to the horizontal part 5 of the diffuser, the contaminated liquid droplets, separating from the gas, fall onto the surface of the liquid chambers 6, where in the process of sedimentation they settle onto an inclined bottom 7 and are then transported through a water trap 16 to a sludge collector. The partially purified gas contacts at speed with the surface of the liquid in the chamber 6, breaks off the partially clarified liquid, crushing it with a high-speed pressure, and captures coagulating solid particles. When the gas is subsequently rotated 90 ° into the vertical ascending part 8 of the diffuser, contaminated droplets from the gas are released under the action of centrifugal forces, separating on the surface of the water and the vertical wall, settle on the inclined bottom 7 of the chamber 6, from where they are discharged into the sludge collector through the hydraulic lock 16. Re-purified gas enters the vertical ascending part 8 of the diffuser, where towards it, through the nozzle 9, clean water enters the gas. Gas is bubbled through the liquid layer, crushes it and creates a suspended aerosol layer, on the droplets of which, with a very high contact area, fine particles (micron and submicron) dust particles coagulate, and then, together with the gas stream, passes through the nozzle 12 to a centrifugal droplet eliminator 13. From here, the partially contaminated liquid of the finely dispersed dust fraction is separated and drains through the water trap 14 into the tank 10 of the irrigation liquid. The settled solid fraction of dust, along the inclined bottom of the tank 10, through the water trap 15, enters the chamber 6, from where, after clarification, the sludge is discharged, through the water trap 16, into the sludge collector. The loss of water associated with evaporation and entrainment is compensated by the supply of clean water through a level 11 regulator.
When cleaning acid gas components, both the alkaline properties of the captured dust are used, as well as the possibility of adding a reagent.
A high level of mass transfer allows one to ensure both the efficiency of absorption by a solid gas particle and the chemisorption of acidic components with aqueous solutions having a sufficiently high reactivity.
