Abstract
Description
The invention relates to metallurgy, and in particular to methods for producing wear-resistant coatings primarily from refractory titanium compounds on products from hard alloys by physical methods, and can be used for the manufacture of cutting tools.
The aim of the invention is to increase the operational stability of the cutting tool.
This goal is achieved by the fact that in the method of producing wear-resistant coatings on products from hard alloys, including heating and cleaning the surface of the hard alloy with accelerated ions of carbide and nidride-forming elements, the introduction of nitrogen atoms in the surface layer and condensation of the coating, it is proposed to introduce nitrogen atoms in the surface layer preforms simultaneously with heating and surface cleaning, while processing with accelerated ions of carbide and nidride forming elements is carried out in a nitrogen atmosphere and a pressure of 0.5-2.0 Pa.
The surface treatment of the hard alloy with the ions of carbide and nitride forming elements in the presence of nitrogen at the indicated pressures is not accompanied by decarburization of the hard alloy and the formation of the η 1 phase (Co 3 W 3 C), since accelerated ions ionize nitrogen, its activity becomes higher than the activity of carbon in solid alloy and it binds the atoms of carbide and nitride-forming elements embedded in the hard alloy.
This leads to a significant increase in the operational stability of the cutting tool. The method is as follows. Hard alloy products, mainly multifaceted non-grindable cutting inserts, after preparation (degreasing, grinding, vibration-abrasive processing, etc.) are loaded into the vacuum chamber of the coating plant.
After reaching the necessary vacuum, nitrogen is injected into the installation to a pressure of 0.5-2.0 Pa and processing of products with high-energy ions begins. Ions of carbide- and nitride-forming elements are obtained by evaporation of the cathode and accelerate in an electric field with a potential difference of the order of 1.5 kV.
In this case, the surface of the products is cleaned and heated to operating temperatures.
After that, the high voltage is removed and the coating is condensed at a potential difference between products and ion sources of 100-200 V in a nitrogen or carbon-containing atmosphere at a pressure of 0.5 Pa.
If the nitrogen pressure during processing of products with accelerated ions is less than 0.5 Pa, the activity of the concentration of nitrogen atoms is insufficient to bind the ions of carbide and nitride forming elements embedded in the hard alloy. As a result, η 1 is formed — the phase and operational stability decreases.
If the nitrogen pressure is greater than 2.0 Pa, then the effect of cleaning the surface and its heating is not achieved. As a result, the coating will not have a strong bond with the base, which also reduces the operational stability.

Replaceable multifaceted cutting inserts of the form 03114-120412 of the VK6 alloy are subjected to vibration abrasion treatment, degreased with ethyl alcohol, and loaded into the Bulat-3T installation.
Treatment with titanium ions is carried out at a potential difference of 1 kV and various nitrogen pressures for 5 minutes.
After that, coatings are made of titanium nitride or
Полученные изделия испытывают при продольном точении стали 50 при скорости резания V = 150 м/мин и сечении среза Sхt = 1х0,2 мм2/об (критерий износа h3 = 0,5 мм).The obtained products are tested with longitudinal turning of steel 50 at a cutting speed of V = 150 m / min and a section of the cut Sхt = 1х0.2 mm 2 / rev (wear criterion h 3 = 0.5 mm).
The process conditions and the results are shown in the table.
The resistance coefficient is defined as the ratio of the cutting time of the coated plate to the cutting time of the original plate (without coating) to wear along the rear face (h 3 ) of 0.5 mm.
As can be seen from the data given in the table, the use of the proposed method allows to increase the operational stability (service life) of the cutting tool in 2.0-2.4 times.
