Abstract
Description
The invention relates to the field of powder metallurgy, in particular to the composition of the charge for the manufacture of sintered hard alloy based on tungsten carbide powder, used for the manufacture of tools operating under shock loads.
The aim of the invention is to increase the wear resistance of a hard alloy under shock loads. This goal is achieved in that the mixture to obtain a sintered hard alloy based on tungsten carbide powder containing fractions of less than 2.5 microns and 4-30 microns, containing 6-20 wt.% Powder of cobalt fractions of 0.5-5 microns, the mixture is additionally contains tantalum carbide powder fractions of not more than 2.0 microns, in the following ratio of components in the carbide phase, wt.%:
Wolfram carbide
fractions less than 2.5 microns 28-59
Tungsten carbide fraction 4-30 microns 38-69
Tantalum carbide
fractions no more than 2
The basis of the mixture from a powder of tungsten carbide fractions of less than 2.5 μm and 4-30 μm provides an alloy with a carbide phase having a polydisperse (bimodal) structure, consisting of two fractions of tungsten carbide grains of sharply different sizes and representing two nested in each other carbide "skeleton".
The coarse-grained "skeleton" in combination with the addition of tantalum carbide provides increased plastic deformation of the alloys, and the fine-grained "skeleton" of tungsten carbide in combination with the addition of tantalum carbide provides increased wear resistance of the alloy. As a result, the wear resistance of the alloy under shock loads increases.
The mixture is made as follows. Tungsten carbide powder is produced at a temperature of 1450-2200 ° C by carbonization tungsten reduced in one or two stages at temperatures of 650-900 ° C and 850-1200 C, respectively. Tantalum carbide powder prepared at 1600 ° C by reduction of Ta 2 O 5 soot. Cobalt powder is produced by reduction of cobalt oxide at a temperature of 500-550 C. The powders of tungsten carbide, consisting of grains of different fractions of 2.5 microns and 4-30 microns, tantalum carbide fraction is not more than 2 micron fractions of cobalt and 0.5-5 micron is mixed in certain quantities in a drum mill for 6-24 hours
The hard alloy from the proposed mixture is made according to well-known technology: the mixture is mixed with a plasticizer, pressed blanks of the desired shape and sintered at T = 1340-1450 about C.
П р и м е р. PRI me R. Tungsten carbide powders of a fraction of 1.0-2.0 microns by weight 39% and fractions of 4.0-20 microns - 59% by mass, tantalum carbide fractions of less than 2 microns - 2.0 wt.% And cobalt fractions of 0.5- 5 microns - 10 wt.% Were mixed in a drum mill with a ratio of balls to the mass of the mixture 2.5: 1 for 24 hours. The prepared mixture was dried, sieved and kneaded on a plasticizer. Pressed at a specific pressure of 1200 kg / cm 2 , sintered at T = 1420 about C.
10.The wear resistance of the alloy according to the ASTM method is 8.97 cm -3 , which is 37% higher than the known VK10 alloy.
30-40%.The degree of defect formation of the obtained alloy was 0.72 compared with 0.55-0.6 for the known composition of the charge. The table shows the compositions of the proposed mixture (experiments 1-6, 10, 12, 14) and the properties of the alloys obtained from these compositions of the mixture in comparison with the properties of the sintered hard alloy obtained from a mixture of known composition (
