Abstract
Chips which serve as substitute currency for gaming are stacked in bulk and placed on a gaming table, but with conventional techniques whereby IC tags are installed in each chip and are read using a reading device, there are problems in that the total value cannot be read accurately, and using a captured image from a camera results in blind spots or shadows caused by overlaps, and thus the total value of the chips serving as substitute currency for gaming cannot be discerned. The measuring system of the present invention is provided with: a plurality of height measurement cameras (2) which obtain images of stacked chips (120) being measured, from different positions or angles; and a chip number measuring device (302) which obtains the height of the chips being measured, from each viewing angle to each chip being measured, relative to a horizontal or vertical direction, obtained from the plurality of height measurement cameras, and obtains by calculation the number of chips being measured.
