Abstract

Disclosed is a prefabricated building module having a pair of channels beneath the first floor adapted to be engaged by a rotatable forklift tines, allowing it to be easily rotated and still balanced for easy transportation. A building module comprising of a ground floor and a first floor with a pair of channels provided at the bottom of the first floor, wherein the pair of channels is substantially close to a center of mass of the building module, wherein the building module is rotatable between a first position where a bottom of the ground floor module is able to rest upon the ground and a second position where a first side of the building module is able to rest upon the ground and wherein the building module is adapted to be rotated between the first position and the second position by receiving rotatable tines of a forklift into the pair of channels and activating the forklift to rotate the tines and thereby the building module through 90 degrees.

Claims (5)

1. A building module comprising: a ground floor and a first floor; a pair of channels provided at the bottom of the first floor; wherein the pair of channels is substantially close to a center of mass of the building module; wherein the building module is rotatable between a first position where a bottom of the ground floor module is able to rest upon the ground and a second position where a first side of the building module is able to rest upon the ground; and wherein the building module is adapted to be rotated between the first position and the second position by receiving rotatable tines of a forklift into the pair of channels and activating the forklift to rotate the tines and thereby the building module through 90 degrees.
2. The building module according to claim 1, wherein the building module is constructed from prefabricated metal components.
3. The building module of claim 1, being of a width substantially smaller than its height.
4. The building module as in claim 1 further comprising vertical posts that support horizontal channels which themselves support joists for providing support for the ground floor and first floor.
5. The building module as in claim 1 wherein multiple building modules can be joined together to form a building.
