Abstract

The amplitude balancing is carried out using a dual point modulator (24). The modulator (24) uses a feedback circuit from the phase error determination (34). The feedback loop includes a signal processor (52) and a loop filter (35). The signal processor will then generate 2 digital output signals (50,51) which will indicate if the ratio of the first modulating signal to the second modulating signal is too high, too low, or within an acceptable limit. The amplitude of at least one of the modulating signals is then adjusted to reduce the amplitude difference.
