Abstract
En beskrivelse er gitt av en fremgangsmåte for å produsere stål i en elektrisk smelteovn hvor den elektriske smelteovnen opplastes med en forhåndsbestemt mengde av smeltet råjern og som omfatter de følgende trinn: (a) kontinuerlig opplasting med smeltet råjern ved en kontrollert hastighet uten avbrudd av oppvarmingen fra den elektriske lysbuen, (b) injeksjon av raffineringsgass i ovnen før konsentrasjonen av karbon og/eller silisium i metallbadet har nådd en forhåndsbestemt grenseverdi, og hvor injeksjonen finner sted sammenhengende inntil avslutning av opplastningen, og (c) fortsette injeksjonen av raffmeringsgassen etter opplastingen av den planlagte mengden råjern inntil målverdien på konsentrasjonen av karbon og/eller silisium i metallbadet er oppnådd.
