Abstract

The mast-top mounted sail with side vanes, has a tendency to lift the craft slightly, reducing water resistance. The sail board (2) is fitted with a standard sail and mast (3). The mast top supports a sail wing (1) with two side vanes. The wing is supported by springs (4) or rubber rods. Another application may include fitting sail wings to a boat with two masts.

Sailing wing.Sailing wing.

It is known that the wind per open water, especially at sea and ocean, has been and will be a determining factor in the course, speed and energy consumption of all kinds of floating objects and equipment, including when ships with engines of thousands of horsepower.

The use of the sailing wing provides significant corrections with regard to stability, speed and energy consumption.

These positive effects are achieved by applying the sailing wing as a new mechanism for professional and pleasure boating both motorized and sailing.

The sailing wing consists of an aerodynamically shaped wing, the profile of which corresponds to the minimum and maximum speed of the wind and of the object on the water surface.

These varying ratios of these two speeds determine the effect of the sailing wing, taking into account the symmetrical positioning of several wings with respect to the center of gravity. (Fig. 1 and 2) 20 By its very nature, the sailing wing gives the most efficiency when mounted on the mast top, rotating using vainen (Fig. 3) to the resultant wind and forward speed.

(Pig.4en5)The sailing wing as a new type of rig propulsion offers significant advantages over all hitherto known attempts to make use of era. harmonic combination of upward forward forces, such as there are: "Hand Seal" (Ep-A 76954) a small prototype of era flying construction with limited speed, stability maneuverability relative to the sailing wing; \ 30 8 3 0 4 4 4 1 | . -¾ de ”segelvorrichtung" (Ep-A 81003) a vessel that has either te kaappa with minimal upward force or minimal forward force, while the harmonic combination of both forces has been made effective in the sailing wing design, as well as the main 35 quality of. (Pig.4en5)

The design (Ep-A 74361) a sail with variable forward and upward effects is a complete repetition of the "Segelvorrich-tung" with all its advantages and disadvantages.

The design (Ep-A 70673) "Windpropelled craft" shows significant defects in stability and maneuverability due to the fact that the points of application of the buoyancy forces are close to the center of gravity so that they cannot effect.
