Abstract

Catalyst composn. consists of 0.01-5wt.% of a Pt group metal, 0.01-5wt.% of an Sn-based component and 0.1-3wt.% of a halogen, associated with a porous solid support, esp. alumina. The catalyst pref. contains 0.01-0.9wt.% Pt, 0.1-1.0wt.% Sn, 0.01-0.3wt.% In, And 0.01-1.0wt. Re. The catalyst is used in the reduced form. It has high selectivity, activity and stability. It is used esp. for the reforming of naphtha, but also for hydrocracking, hydrogenation, isomerisation, alkylation and desulphurisation.
