Abstract

The automatic accompaniment system is for a keyboard musical instrument having a unit which generates key depression signals according to the keys depressed, and fundamental tone/chord detector units which in combination comprise a shift register of which the outputs from all stages are available. The key depression signals are stored and the stored signals displaced cyclically. The parallel outputs from the shift register are taken on an ROM to detect a required chord and to control the generation of an appropriate fundamental note or chord.
