Abstract
The grit-spreading equipment delivers the grit in a flowing current, this current being generated by burning a mixture of fuel and air so as to produce a jet of hot high-speed gas, into which the grit particles are introduced. There can be a burner assembly (10) with combustion chamber (11) having inlets for fuel and air (16, 17), also an outlet (20) for the combustion gas jet. A pipe (22) delivers grit to this jet to be transported by it. The combustion chamber can be of the flash-back type, in which combustion is complete inside it.
