Abstract

The turbulence-inducing device is for a burner where liquid fuel is atomised at high pressure by a nozzle in the form of a whirlpool jet. The nozzle (11) and the combustion air (C) discharge coaxially into a blast pipe (10), in which a diffuser forms a first chamber (14) in which the fuel is atomised and partly mixed with air, and a second chamber (15) in which the mixture is burnt. The diffuser consists of a turbine (13) whose rotor is driven in the opposite direction to the particles forming the fuel jet. This is done by part of the mixture formed in the first chamber, so that the various currents passing through the turbine intermix in the combustion chamber, to form an entirely homogeneous mixture.
