Abstract

The pneumatic or hydraulic ram comprises a hollow cylindrical body, closed at the ends, and accommodating a piston whose rod passes through seals in one or both ends, also equipped with one or more unions for the operating medium. The body (1) has tapering ends joining onto tube sections formed on them. The piston rod (7) is a clearance fit in one or both tube sections, in each of which there is a piston rod guide (11) with a seal (12). These have pipe unions (9) leading to the annular chambers (15) formed between tube sections and piston rod, and to which pipes or closing caps are fitted.
