Abstract

Zones of a garment hanger are given a rough surface by forming where required a layer of plastic material from which particles project, which layer is then allowed to harden. The layer may be formed by plasticising the surface of the hanger, or by applying a layer of plastic material. The rough surface prevents garments, partic. of light fabric with the necks, from slipping off the hanger. Typically, a cellulose varnish is applied to the selected zones of the hanger, and fibrous particles are deposited electrostatically.
