Abstract

The materials to be mixed are discharged into the oblong housing, which contains a central rotary with mixing blades mounted on a holder. Each blade comprises a metal foot secured in the holder and merging into a thinner core. Cladding of rubber is fixed to the core and extends outwards past the end of it. The cladding can extend over the core, to which it is vulcanised, for at least 15% of its length being of constant thickness, or tapering towards the outer edge, and of flat sheet material approximately 10 mm thick. The core can be of spring steel, with holes in it through which the cladding material extends.
