Cephalosporic C is a prepd. in high yield by cultivation of a polyene antibiotic resistant microorganism of the genus Cephalosporium, esp. C. acremonium K-121 (ATCC 20427) or C. acremonium N-75 (ATCC 20428) or Cepolyaleurum. Cephalosporin C is an antibiotic and a starting material for other antibiotics.
