Abstract

There is a middle core of absorbing material, an inner wall forming with the core on one side at least one gas passage channel and on the other side with the jacketing a closed space about the core periphery, in which is an absorbing material; there are formed a first group of cavities, connected to the passage channel, and a gastight closed second group of cavities. Preferably the inner wall has perforations. The cavities are separated from each other by partitions, at 90 deg. to the jacketing, of metal, or panels of sound-absorbing material. The damper can be used in all frequency ranges and has high efficiency esp. in the low frequency range, with small dimensions.
