Abstract

In a drilling assembly for underwater drilling of the sea bed through an open pipe driven into this and/or for drilling a hole for the acceptance of a pipe to be driven therein, comprising a crane or similar transportable hoist situated above the pipe and operating a drilling device working with a liq. for carrying away drilling debris, the improvement whereby the hoist has a coupling for the driven-in pipe, pref. consisting of a sleeve with a conically tapering inlet. Eliminates the need for a separate drilling rig and enables the necessary drilling to be carried out in a rapid and simple manner with min. use of the ship's crane and redn. of the dependence on weather conditions to a min.
