Abstract

The helmet consists of a rigid cover and soft lining. The helmet has a chin strap one end of which is fixed to one side of the helmet. The other end of the strap carries a slotted plate which fits into a snap coupling mounted at the other side of the helmet between the cover and soft lining. The snap coupling contains a spring loaded pawl. A square window is cut out of the helmet and replaced by a square plate of the same material as the helmet. Finger pressure on this plate will move the pawl against its spring and release the catch.
