Description
SELF-POWER GENERATING ALARM DEVICE AND VEHICLE HAVING SAME
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to a self-power generating alarm device, especially to a self-power generating alarm device for a vehicle.
Description of the Related Art
Recently, in response to the policy of energy saving and carbon reduction proposed globally, bicycling has become a popular sport. However, cycling accidents have also increased substantially.
In particular, rear-end bicycle collisions are more likely to happen in the night time or in poor illuminated areas. Unlike motorbikes that are usually equipped with brake lights to alarm the vehicles behind, conventional bicycles generally do not include alarming lights in the design. Some conventional bicycles have an illumination lamp installed at front end, but it can only alarm people or vehicles approaching in opposite direction. Some conventional bicycles have alarming device installed on the spokes to display figures or characters when the wheels are in motion in the night time, but it can only alarm people or vehicles at two sides, and people or vehicles behind the bicycles still cannot perceive the alarm.
In addition, according to a one-year research on 4000 cyclists, using bike daytime lighting can reduce accidents by 19%, and reduce casualties by 47%. As the self-power generating alarm device of the present invention utilizes mechanical energy to generate electrical power to supply a lamp therein, it is very suitable for use in bicycles or electric bicycles.
Some conventional bicycles have installed at rear end a passive alarm device, like a reflective board or a reflective sticker, or an active alarm device, like a battery-powered lamp. However, the reflective plate or reflective sticker is not self-luminous but can only reflect light, and the battery-powered lamp has a disadvantage that when a heavy-metal-contained battery, like mercury battery, is used and discarded, it can pollute 600 thousand litters of water, which can supply a person for a lifetime, or pollute a soil of 1 m2 area, and both can cause an environmental disaster.
To overcome the problems mentioned above, a Taiwan patent M325271 VEHICLE LIGHTING DEVICE discloses a friction dynamo lamp, which includes a cantilever, light emitting lamps and a power generation unit. The cantilever is fixed to a bicycle frame to support the power generation unit normally abutting against a rim of a bicycle wheel. The power generation unit comprises an induction coil assembly, a magnetic roller and a turntable. The induction coil assembly is wound around a rotational axis, which is perpendicular to a rotational axis of the magnetic roller, and when the bicycle wheel is turning, the turntable and the magnetic roller will be driven to rotate relative to the induction coil assembly, and the induction coil assembly will generate an inductive electrical power to supply the light emitting lamps.
However, the device mentioned above has the disadvantages of being not removable, unable to provide stable illumination, unable to store electricity, and having no brake lighting indication. Besides, the installation of the device requires troublesome electrical wiring, and can sometimes invoke safety issues. As a result, a novel self-power generating alarm device is needed.
