Abstract

The arrangement is for driving a motor vehicle comprising an internal combustion engine, an electric motor and transmission devices, where the electric motor can be coupled to the internal combustion engine. The engine is a standard unit with a series of piston-cylinder assemblies, fuel feed arrangements and a crankshaft connected with the pistons. The transmission devices engage with the crankshaft and the fuel feed arrangements can be cut off by regulating units. This enables the crankshaft to be driven by the electric motor. Whilst the crankshaft is being driven by the electric motor, compression pressure in the cylinders is relieved, using magnet valves. Special spark plugs are used and function in conjunction with the compression pressure reduction.
