Abstract

To provide a release film for production of a ceramic green sheet, which enables to peel even an ultrathin ceramic green sheet with a thickness of 1 ?m or less by low and uniform force, is unlikely to generate failures such as pinholes, and can suppress transfer of a silicone component to the ceramic green sheet. A release film for production of a ceramic green sheet, wherein a biaxially-oriented polyester film is used as a substrate, the substrate has a surface layer A which does not substantially contain inorganic particles on at least one surface of the substrate, a release layer is laminated onto at least one surface of the surface layer A directly or via another layer, the release layer is obtained by curing a composition containing at least a release agent and a melamine-based compound, the release agent is polyorganosiloxane containing a carboxyl group, and a content of the melamine-based compound is 80% by mass or more with respect to a solid content of the composition for forming the release layer.
