Abstract

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS INSPECTION AND REPLACEMENT IN CARRIER TAPE The present invention relates generally to a method and apparatus for electronic components inspection and replacement in carrier tape whereby said apparatus comprises of at least one tape and reel module (110), at least one inspection module (310), at least one actuating means (120) and at least one pick-up device (320). Said inspection module (310) comprises of at least one entry pocket position vision inspection unit (311) to inspect position of empty pocket (610) and at least one in-pocket position vision inspection unit (312) to conduct vision inspection of electronic component in carrier tape. During the process of vision inspection towards electronic component in carrier tape, if a reject unit is identified, said tape and reel module (110) will be indexed backward by said actuating means (120) so that said reject unit can be removed by pick-up head (321) of said pick-up device (320) or suction cup (330). The pocket that formerly contained said reject unit will then be replaced with another unit of electronic component for further inspection. (The most illustrative drawing is
