Abstract
Shower that saves the clean water that at present drains away. Showers waste water for various reasons: 1) because when the hot-water supply is turned on there is a short delay before the water from the heater reaches the shower and whilst the hot water is arriving at the shower and the temperature of the water is being adjusted to suit the user, the water drains away; 2) because water drains away during the time when the user is soaping his/her body; 3) because many users continue to stand under the flow of water from the shower after they have finished rinsing themselves off. The latter is the most important cause of water being wasted. Owing to the fact that it recycles and purifies the clean water, this shower saves a high percentage of the water that currently drains away.
Description
WATER SAVING SHOWER BACKGROUND AND OBJECT OF THE INVENTION Currently, one of the most wasteful water waste in domestic use originates in the shower. Indeed, the waste of water in the shower takes place (1) when opening the hot water that takes a little while to get from the water heater to the shower and while the hot water arrives and the water temperature is adjusted to the user's taste , the water is drained. (2) Another cause of wasting water in the shower bath is that the water is drained into the drain during the time the user soaps up the body. However, (3) the most important cause of water waste is the custom of many users to continue to pour water from the shower after the final rinse is finished. The object of the present invention is, therefore, to economize the water waste 1, 2, and 3.
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The characteristic details of the systems of this invention are explained in detail in the following Description and are clearly shown in the accompanying Drawings, the same numbers being used to indicate the same details in both Description and Drawings. Figure 1 is a diagram of a conventional shower in which all the water that comes out of the shower goes to the drain regardless of whether it is clean or dirty water. Figure 2 is a diagram of a shower that has a valve at the outlet of the water that allows to recycle the clean water that until now is wasted in the showers.
Water. The sewer (No. 7) connects directly to the drain, so that all dirty or clean water will drain. In Figure 2, the cubicle (No. 8) has the sewer (No. 9) that has the short section of pipe (No. 10) which at its lower end has a two-way valve (No. 11) permanently open towards the drainage pipe (No. 12) to evacuate the dirty water and closing the passage of water to the pipe (No. 13) that of clean water. . When energized by the electric current the electro-mechanical actuator of this valve rotates the piston lA back closing the passage to the drain and opening the passage of water to the tank of clean water. In case of failure of the electric current, the spring returns the valve plunger to its original position. The cubicle (No. 8) has integrated the proximity sensor (No. 14) interconnected with the electromechanical valve (No. 15) so that when the user leaves the shower to soap, the water is shut off, saving thus the clean water that is lost during soaping. The sensor (No. 14) can also be interconnected with the valve (No. 11) in such a way that the clean water during the user's soaping will automatically be led to the clean water tank. This deposit, as is logical, has a tube to let escape the
air in filling process. This tube, not shown in the drawing because it is so simple, has its upper outlet in the upper part of the shower cubicle or in another convenient place. The clean water tank also has an automatic level switch so that when filling the tank, open the valve circuit (No. 11) sending all the water coming from the shower to the drain, to avoid flooding the cubicle of the watering can. The collected water can be used (case No. 1) for the toilets or (case No. 2) to recycle to the same shower for those who find it either therapeutic or pleasant to continue enjoying the shower once they have finished with the bath - preliminary wet, soaped, and rinsed - so that with a small volume of water, for example 20 or 30 liters can continue enjoying the shower indefinitely without wasting water.
Figure 3 shows a schematic of a prefabricated shower in which the cubicle (No.16) has the sewer, the tube, and the valve identical to those indicated by the numerals 9, 10, and 11 as in figure 2, and also has the automatic filter (No. 17) that additionally cleans the clean water that comes from the shower, which (filter) once it is filled with waste at 50% its capacity, automatically discharges such waste to the drain. In the same circuit comes the deposit of clean water (No. 18), which can also be a double floor of the cubicle to save space, and then a small pump (No. 19) for recycling the water to the shower. The 2-way valve (No. 21) opens the water recycling circuit by closing the water flow from the manual valves or vice versa as appropriate. The electric immersion heater (No. 20) keeps the water re-circulated at the temperature the user wants. The control panel can be external or inside the cubicle (No. 16), and in this case it will be hermetic to protect both the user and the components of the same board. In both cases, the adjustment as well as the starting and stopping of the system can be partially manual (electrical) or fully automatic (electronic), in which the user only adjusts the temperature of the recycled water and the system works automatically as programmed.
It is pertinent to note that in all cases, these novel shower designs can be used as conventional showers with common valves to regulate the passage of water manually.
Claims (5)
1. - Sprinkler that in the outlet of the water to the drain has a valve as described or another similar one that separates the dirty water from the clean water. 2.- Shower that has a tank to store the clean water from the shower that is now drained. 3.- Pre-fabricated shower with double floor that serves for the object described in
2. 4.- Shower in circuit of clean water coming from the shower has an automatic filter that when filled to a pre-determined percentage of its capacity, discharge the waste to the drainage 5.- Watering can have a small pump at the outlet of the storage tank of clean water for the circulation of water in the system. proximity. 9.- Watering that incorporates any technology that allows the separation of the clean water from the dirty one and the recycling of the first one during the bath.
