Abstract
Un proceso ciclico para controlar las emisiones ambientales de compuestos organicos volatiles (VOC) de la recuperacion de vapores en operaciones de almacenamiento y distribucion de liquidos mantenidos en vacio en el espacio vacio del tanque de almacenamiento. En la primera parte de un proceso ciclico de dos partes se descarga el vapor del espacio vacio a traves de un sistema de recuperacion de vapores en el cual los VOC se extraen del gas desfogado con una membrana selectivamente permable a gas. En la segunda parte, la membrana es inoperativa en tanto que aumenta la presion de gas en el espacio vacio. En un aspecto de esta invencion, se carga aire ambiente a la unidad de separacion de membrana durante la segunda parte del ciclo. En otro aspecto, se extrae un vacio en la unidad de separacion de membrana. La carga de aire o extraccion de vacio purga los VOC de la unidad de membrana y de esta manera reduce las emisiones totales de VOC.
