Abstract

Imidazoles cuaternarios I, en donde R1 y R3, independientemente una de la otra, son radicales de hidrocarburos saturados o no saturados de 1-12 átomos de carbono que se pueden substituir por grupos funcionales de oxígeno o interrumpidos por oxígeno no adyacentes, R2, R4 y R5 independientemente uno del otro son radicales hidrogeno o hidrocarburos o saturados o no saturados de 1-12 átomos de carbono que se pueden substituir con grupos funcionales de oxígeno o interrumpidos mediante oxígenos no adyacentes; es posible que R4 y R5, junto con los carbones de imidazoles correspondientes formen un anillo de cinco o seis miembros, y X es un anion, se utilizan como anticorrosivos en la proteccion a la corrosion de los metales no ferrosos, especialmente para la proteccion del radiador del automovil.
