Abstract

La presente invencion se refiere a en un sistema para recibir una señal de television de alta definicion (HDTV) transmitida como una señal de banda lateral vestigial (VSB) formateada como constelacion de datos de una dimension de símbolos que representan datos de imagen digital y sujetos a exhibir un desfasamiento de la portadora, una red de recuperacion de portadora para cambiar la frecuencia de la señal VSB recibida hacia la banda de base, la red de recuperacion de portadora que es capaz de lograr la recuperacion de portadora sin apoyarse en un componente piloto si está presente en la señal recibida, la red de recuperacion de portadora que comprende: una red de entrada para procesar la señal BSV; una red de filtro que responde a una señal de salida desde la red de entrada y que tiene una respuesta de orilla de banda con respecto a por lo menos una de las orillas de banda superior e inferior de un espectro de frecuencia de dicha señal VSB para producir una señal de amplitud modulada (AM) de banda lateral doble en una salida de la red de filtro; una red detectora de fase para procesar la señal de salida de AM de banda lateral doble para producir una señal de control que representa un desfasamiento de portadora cuando está presente; y un procesador de salida que responde a al señal de control para producir una señal de salida desmodulada en o cerca de la banda de base.
