Abstract

A ballistic composite (1) for use in ballistic vests, vehicle armour and any item requiring effective protection against impacts from projectiles. Said composite (1) comprises two or more blocks of layers of woven or nonwoven fabric (2 and 3), the layers of each one being joined by fastening stitching and each block being bonded to the other by a polymer-based adhesive layer (4). The anchoring side of the stitching of one of the blocks (2 or 3) receives the adhesive layer (4) so that the anchoring side of the stitching of the other block (2 or 3) can be bonded to it, the blocks (2 and 3) being superposed and bonded with their stitching misaligned, and therefore intercalated.
