Abstract

Se describen técnicas para fundir productos metálicos de alta resistencia y altamente conformables a partir de chatarra de metal reciclado sin la adición de cantidades sustanciales o de cualquier cantidad de aluminio primario. Se pueden agregar elementos de aleación adicionales, tales como magnesio, a la chatarra de metal, que se puede fundir y procesar para producir una bobina de metal deseable a un calibre final que tenga propiedades metalúrgicas y mecánicas deseables, tales como alta resistencia y conformabilidad.
