Abstract

La invención se dirige a un lecho de catalizador para la oxidación selectiva de sulfuro de hidrógeno, el lecho de catalizador comprende una primera capa de catalizador y una segunda capa de catalizador, en donde la primera capa de catalizador comprende primeras partículas de catalizador que comprenden un primer material de soporte y un primer óxido de metal y la segunda capa de catalizador comprende segundas partículas de catalizador que comprenden un segundo material de soporte y un segundo óxido de metal, en donde las primeras partículas de catalizador tienen una mayor carga de óxido de metal a diferencia de las segundas partículas de catalizador. En aspectos adicionales, la invención se dirige a un proceso para la oxidación selectiva de sulfuro de hidrógeno, que comprende pasar una corriente de gas que comprende sulfuro de hidrógeno por un lecho de catalizador y a un proceso para la oxidación selectiva de sulfuro de hidrógeno que comprende el lecho de catalizador.
