Abstract

Esta descripción se refiere a la eliminación de nitrógeno con la adición de carbono, incluyendo para el tratamiento de aguas residuales. La reacción de desnitrificación puede ser terminada en un producto de nitrito intermediario, el cual se suministra a la reacción de anammox. El nitrógeno se puede eliminar a través del uso de una fuente de donador de electrones que incluye, pero no se limita a, acetato o glicerol en una zona específica. El donador de electrones se puede utilizar para convertir nitrato a nitrito a través de una dosificación apropiada, SRT anóxico y/o mantenimiento de nitrato residual en aislamiento o en combinación. También se propone el suministro subsecuente de nitrito y amoniaco para las reacciones de anammox. El desarrollo más lento del anammox puede ser selectivamente retenido sobre medios o utilizando otros aspectos físicos. El intento total de la presente descripción es reducir al mínimo el uso de un donador de electrones al incrementar al máximo la desnitración y reacciones de anammox.
