Abstract

La presente invención está relacionada con la aplicación de copolímeros base acrilatos de alquilo, como agentes antiespumantes en aceites crudos con densidades de 10 a 40 °API. Las pruebas de evaluación en aceite crudo "vivo", bajo condiciones similares a las de las unidades de separación gas-liquido, mostraron que estos copolímeros base acrilato de alquilo son eficientes como inhibidores de la formación de espuma en aceite crudo pesado y súper-pesado, abatiéndola entre un 15 y 50 % más rápido, con respecto al aceite crudo sin dosificar (testigo). Incluso, algunos acrílatos mostraron mejor desempeño que los polímeros comerciales base silicio, los cuales suprimen la espuma de 20 a 25% más rápido respecto al testigo. Las siliconas, debido a la presencia del silicio, presentan problemas como la desactivación de catalizadores y formación de depósitos en etapas subsiguientes del proceso de refinación. Esta situación ha traído como consecuencia que, en la actualidad, las refinerías en México y de otras partes del mundo modifiquen o prohíban la aplicación de estos polímeros inorgánicos y que se requiera de nuevos agentes antiespumantes con bajo contenido de silicio o, incluso, libres totalmente en su composición de este elemento. Por ende, los nuevos agentes antiespumantes objeto de esta invención, base acrilato de alquilo y totalmente libres de silicio, son una opción ventajosa, para remplazar los inhibidores de espuma base silicona disponibles actualmente en el mercado.
