Abstract

The present disclosure is related to a masterbatch formulation for the manufacture of a plastic film, which confers improved mechanical and optical properties, making it suitable for agricultural applications, for example, coverings for greenhouses, cushioned floors, micro-tunnels, macro-tunnels, and the like; since it allows the production of a beneficial microclimate for crops. Said masterbatch contains organic UV stabilizers, antioxidants, lubricants and one or more nanometric metallic composites, selected from the group that includes zinc oxide, magnesium hydroxide and bismuth trioxide. In an modality of use of the masterbatch of the invention in a greenhouse film, it has been selected a three-layer film with the contained masterbatch layer exposed to solar radiation and with an alternative embodiment of the formulation without nanometric metal composites offering significantly advantageous results over conventional films.
